Final thoughts of 11.1

Did you enjoy 11.1s story/campaign?

I for one never finished it. I just dont like goblins.

Did you finish 11.1s campaign and did you like the raid/mythic + season?

I mainly skipped it and looking forward to 11.2

no but i liked the tier sets

I enjoyed M+ but would prefer less power gain in the middle of the season. I also loved the goblins and the goblin zone, but I didn’t use the car because I thought it was ugly of all possible reasons. lol

I did the campaign and the Story Mode Raid. It was fun.

The goblin story deviation is hard to take very seriously in the grand scheme of the plot and what happens if we lose…but it does fall in line well enough.

Maybe the only annoyance is we got another Horde leader who went off to betray everyone. It’s just a dumb running gag at this point.

I thought it was decent. I feel like Goblims deserved some storytime love which they got. DRIVE is cool.

Yep. Campaign fully done. AoTC and my raiding guild got to 2/8M but called it there.

Mythic season I’ve slacked on. Playing with friends had essentially passively got me portals but then i dropped off. Most just doing legacy stuff

I give it a big meh, funny that they pretty much scrapped D.R.I.V.E. it seems for season 3. Can’t say I don’t blame them given it was pretty much a flop, tier sets were just not good as well. Glad their going with mostly Spec specific ones, although.these will interact with hero talents.

11.1 is one of the best patches I’ve played in a very long time. I didn’t care for Goblins before, but Blizzard absolutely nailed the thematics in every corner of Undermine. DRIVE is a really fun mode of transport if you can get the hang of it. I often find myself joyriding around the city or making donuts in front of the hotel.

Liberation of Undermine is a FANTASTIC raid. I’m speaking strictly from a tank perspective, but man, every single boss has such a wacky chaotic energy and very fun mechanics. I like bosses that put stuff in the room to interact with, and this raid has a lot of stuff that integrates the room into the fight.

I’d say this patch is as good as The Thunder King patch, which is pretty high up there in my favorite patches list.

wasn’t too big a fan…skipped it for classic this season. If the story is good, and they really do start making some changes, i’ll be back in s3 or s4!

story…? what story.

NGL showing up to Undermine and being told to rent an apartment and work for Uber was pretty bleak. But goblins in general are just super funny

Story was eh. I liked the theme. Undermine is pretty fun. Hope we get DRIVE for the motorcycles we have in game. Tier set was nice. Raid was fun until people had to learn how to do mechanics. M+ was much better.

11.1 was great! Undermine and the gobs is a fantastic vibe, loved DRIVE, and I think LoU was an extremely fun raid. New dungeon was alright.

Delves got a ton of improvements over S1, and hope S3 continues the trend.

Hope PvP gets worked on but that probably isn’t happening until Midnight.

I finished the campaign. Only part I can really remember was spreading the ashes…although, now I can’t even remember who’s ashes they were. That part was kinda sad and I’m not even sure why I was paying attention then…lmao. Oh…the Mafia style assassination stuff at the start was cool too but then I just blew threw everything else …not sure why I just kinda always end up speed running it after the first few quests.

I loved undermine… honestly I think it’s some of the best artwork in the game…a little confined but still amazing. The music was fantastic…matched with the theme extremely well.

I am getting old and starting to suck at the game so I really can’t keep up as well as I used to. All in all the combat is the same or as good as it’s always been. Fights were well designed…challenging. The insurance system is…what it is. Some really cool tmogs stuff and some amazing mounts which I’ll probably never obtain. That dino mount is so freaking cool. Someday… Anyways…I’m kinda just returning after a couple months break but looking forward to getting ready for season 3.

Tldr - good art, good music, good combat, good collectibles.

Undermine is one of my favorite patches. Drive is a ton of fun, goblins are always great for story, I didn’t touch the raid, but my goodness the city immersion and breath of quests was very fun and I looked forward to the side quests rather than just zooming through

Final thoughts on 11.1? Kinda meh at best, one patch with Undermine doesn’t really make up for the rest being boring robots and a whole empire of Paladin zealots vs the cannibal spider people they weirdly tried to endear us to.

Undermine was a big upturn in the quality but came a bit late after 11.0 fizzled out and 11.1.5 and .7 flopped.

The Undermine storyline was an upswing in the overall quality of The War Within. It was pretty substantial, had a twist ending with the theft of the Dark Heart and even had an amusing epilog with the goblin lawyer and the ownership of the casino.

The tie in with the dark heart and the black blood fit the overarching storyline and drew Azerite/Heart of Azeroth parallels which I hope eventually add up to something.

I didn’t hate it. It was a nice change from 11.0 but I felt it was a little on the nose for my tastes.

I 1000% resemble this. I hated Blundermine, and visit it as little as possible. Did the campaign to open the raid quest (for the crest) and since then 2 visits / alt. Have done the WB 4 times for the gold, but only if it coincides with an alt visit. Haven’t done any of the nightfall stuff at all. Won’t do the Lorewalking or the Highlands quest chain. Do enjoy the overcharged delve CONCEPT, but so far it’s been delves I really don’t like so I’ve only gotten the belt on 4 alts and am 10 disc’s into the matrix. It’s a good thing this patch has been so “meh” since I’ve been gone 70% of the weekends and my playtime has been limited. Hopefully 11.2 is better, well have to see. :speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil::see_no_evil:
