Although the patch release date is announced - I’m really really hoping and pleading that developers really re-consider their stance on account-wide essences. Even if they take slightly longer to push it through (e.g. a month after the initial patch release), I’d be ok with it. It’s an easy win for players and Blizz gets a nice PR boost going into the long content drought before Shadowlands!

No, that would ruin their time metrics. You being able to share essences account wide reduces the time you spend on one character to get gear for another character.
That extra minute is very important to them it seems.
No really though, make them account wide. Stop with these joke re-hashed systems.
Should of just stuck with Justice/Valor.

But I suppose that’d require us to have a PvP vendor, and nobody knows where to find those.

Yeah, it’s gonna be nothing but a qq fest of demanding changes and crying about how broken the game is and the usual “I quit” threads that always pop up every expansion/patch.

This is one of those topics I want to not agree with while trying to think like a developer but simply can’t. Having a way to shorten the grind or making certain levels unlock and be account bound would be an amazing quality of life issue for those with alts.
I fear that nothing will be changed via hotfix or pushed till 8.3.5 if we get anything at all.
I think they just need to be made a lot easier.
Newer players will have to go through a lot of work to have just one character ready to the raid.
The devil would definitely be in the details in how they’d theoretically implement it. But sadly, I agree its unlikely we’ll get anything at all.

Though I will agree. I do think essences should be account bound. At the very least make it so that if you get Rank 4 it carries over to all your toons. Doubt it will screw up their metric too much. Plenty of the rank 4’s are hard to get.
They haven’t listened to the vast majority of feedback this xpac… What makes you think they will now?
I’m sure they’ll 7.4 it and make the ideal system it should have been all along and then introduce something entirely new next xpac which everyone will hate until it’s fixed in 9.4/3 and on and on.

I get it. Been that way with Shaman tanking since WoD and Legion gutting. They have to implement what they can and with their overall vision to how the game should be. If you just had all powerful alts right out of the gate, why would you play them? If they made say rank 1 account bound that would be something. Then you’d have a reason to level your neck on those characters.
