A stupid fire shield surrounds the fragment so the quest can not be completed.
I quit/abandonned this quest 4 times already. Why must stupid things get in the way.?
Trying to have a happy day and stupid frustrates me and makes the game not a game.

So I just sit there looking at it. run through it. click on it. All the other worked but why not this one? … some dev friday night… lets make the last one a doozy!
have you tried disabling all your addons - addons are terrible this expansion for messing up things.
I did that… I quit and restarted the quest. None of the other obsidians were shielded so why they did this to the last one looks pretty lame.
they all look the same in the videos - they have fire shields that disappear once you kill the mobs.
Problem solved. Just have to wait until someone else is fighting the spirits and tag them. I think the problem happens when you show up just as someone else is finishing off the spirits and you don’t get a hit in. Spirits won’t respawn for you for some reason so you have to wait until someone else spawns them then tag them before they get killed.
Nah I quit the quest. So buggy. Will never touch that quest again no matter how critical it is if it leads to more chained quests… dead in my books. Shame on you devs
