Final Fantasy surpasses WoW for the first time in history

I love final fantasy 7, 8, and 10 is good too… but… I can’t really seem to get into FF14… I boosted a character and now it feels even more pointless to play. The beginning content is boring hence why I boosted, but yeah… I can’t get into the gameplay at all whatsoever  WoW is great though, more fun in a lot of ways. SL needs more work though.

I’m glad there’s at least some competition though.

These aren’t the sources being referenced in this thread though.

Its a website called Finalweapon or something.

OP put the site in his post.

I know, that website in the OP just links to this mmo population website. Final Weapon is a final fantasy site.

You can follow the links yourself to see.

Below it is saying Final Fantasy is the most played, but when you click on each game individually it doesnt add up.

Yeah I noticed that too, I couldn’t tell you why though.

Oh! I can probably tell you what it is, when you click on a game, the number you see there is reference to POPULATION, not daily activity. That would be why it changes.

Idk where you’ve been but Japanese games are growing in the west.

The older generation might still consider WoW to me “thee” MMO but ask a bunch of the younger gens and a lot would mention genshin impact and ffxiv.

Your comment is truly something out of the early 2000s I mean if you posted it then, then I’d say your right but nah not now dude.

Mr. T and South Park haven’t been relevant in yearssssss

When I played, I think I got to level 30 or something like that. But, people told me the same thing, and I thought the same thing you did. I was thoroughly enjoying it and not bored at all, so I wasn’t really sure why people said that. Now, like you said, if things get even better then I guess I have to be prepared to be wow’ed (no pun intended)

(But, again, those Lalafell need to go to away)

They recently cut a lot of ARR msq and I wonder if that has anything to do with it…

I know FF14 has been getting a lot of traffic lately from WoW. Can’t wait to start seeing stories of how bored people get with its endgame or how lazy some of their content really is (looking at you Bozjan front).

Or how about the part where even if you wanted to do something like Bozjan front with your friends, you’re forced to go back and do old raids. FF14 is king of one thing that is certain, it’s king of wasting your time doing menial tasks. I’m just trying to play with my friends and got sucked into a 10 hour questline just to unlock it…fun.

Both are there, scroll down further.

  • Looks on website
  • Sees they use MMO-Population for numbers.

Ah, the glorified subreddit tracker that doesnt publish how they get their numbers? Neat. Until they actually reveal how they do their equations – Im not buying anything that website says.

I can see how that would be annoying.

They do it because story questline is tied to those ivalice raids. And if 14 wants anything from you, it is to experience those full stories :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope you’re NOT skipping cut scenes!!

When I get to some parts where it just drags on and they’re beating a dead horse, I’ll skip it. This happens towards the end of the X.0 MSQ. I already know how it will end, it’ll end like all the other MSQ final fights, we kill the big bad and then SE will bring them back because reasons. Oh and then there will be the obligatory nude Y’shtola scene.

It’s a nice palate cleanser. I love buffing people on my paladin again!

never thought id see the day

Yeah definitely finish off ARR at least for free haha. They did trim down some of the post game story stuff so it’s not quite as much of a grind getting from ARR to HW. I haven’t gone through it myself since the changes the changes were made, but I imagine any changes to that part of the MSQ would be good changes.

Definitely recommend giving it another go though. Once you make it past ARR it will pick up a lot IMO.

I dunno, haven’t found Bozjan to be boring. Actually rather enjoy it, myself, but then it gives me reasons to grind aside from “because we told you to do it”. Nothing in the game forces you to do the relics and they’re very rarely ever notably BiS for the current tier/content.

  1. Need the old raids done for certain segments of the Relic quests.

  2. The content makes little to no sense outside of the context of having done those quests and raids. Which, in all honesty, do not take that long to unlock and complete.

Never said it was forced champ

So your friends won’t do any other content with you when there’s so much to do right now? And you won’t unlock the content (which doesn’t take nearly as long to unlock as you’re saying it does)?

Sounds like y’all are at an impasse.
