Final fantasy lacks that little magic✨

It’s my mother tongue , but it’s true … I think the fact I was trying to go for that anglicised jjeeuu. Neeeuu sssaaaiii. Kwwaaa. Made my brain malfunction

No worries, wasn’t trying to be a jerk or anything.

As much issues as I had with French(…which to be fair I love to HEAR, just not to try to understand while they were talking), I can only imagine how horrible English is to learn.

I would hate to try and learn English. Yeesh, it’s just so bad.

I find writing English is like 90% easier than french. So straightforward.

Hors d’oeuvre?

I’ll admit I usually just say “appetizers.”

A other translation could be:

So lovely, i, it seem, got my own secretary in you, to correct my mistake.

French have many ‘‘exception’’ or other rule that only apply a handful of time. Even as a french i hate many of the rule we have.

It seems I can’t play final fantasy more than 30 mins without getting a big headache….

The new player experience is really bad and I don’t expect a lot of WoW players to stick through it because the slow GCD is made with later rotations in mind where every job has tons of off-GCD stuff to weave between them at all times. The first 50 levels are just repeating a very slow 2-3 button combo for the most part, and the initial story was used more to set the stage for the later parts of the story, so ARR is widely regarded as the most boring ‘expansion’ narratively.

Which really sucks because once you get past that part FFXIV is dramatically better than WoW in about 95% of ways. They need to improve their new player experience.

I mean English has weird rules all the time. The weirdest to me is probably adjectives. There’s a whole order of precedence that…I have no idea about. But in practice I seemingly do.

It’s a “big green ball”. It is not a “green big ball”.

It’s a “big old green ball”. Not “old big green ball” or “old green big ball” or “green old big ball”

:expressionless:

Languages are silly, you’d think after thousands of years we’d have evolved them into something better. Instead they just seem to get worse.

I didn’t mind FF. And perhaps it was just the crowd I was in, but the game/players seemed more interested in the fashion show aspect than actually playing.

As someone who is still playing through the trial…. It’s actually a decent game.

It’s just a very different style of game play.

I wasn’t trying to translate it directly, just the general theme. Mostly because I can not translate it directly but recognize enough words to “grab” the meaning.

I don’t see final fantasy being “better” just different.

For example - healing in FF is less about constant stream of heals / damage mitigation and more about knowing spikes.

I like the idea of Final Fantasy. Even enjoyed other people playing versions in the past because it is so movie like. However, I have never been able to get into actually playing it. Even bought 8, 9, and 10 in the past plus tried the online version. Just couldn’t get into the game play itself. The stories are great but as movies.

The fact that they have awful if any pvp is also a big turnof

Well personally, I don’t care about PVP. For me, it is a turn off in many games. Maybe if I was three decades younger.

If you’re playing through the trial then you’re in the crappier part of the game that I was talking about.

Excuzeee muah seafood plate?

Anyway FF14 misses in MMO’s is the feeling that you’re always doing something. I spend more time watching others do things in cutscenes while my character nods alot.
