Final Fantasy kills boosting in new Updates to the Prohibited Activities

It’s not a small minority that thinks boosting cheapens games if other MMOs are taking the initiative.

It’ll still happen. 100%

They wanted to clean up the group finder etc and are still working on it. I think it’s great. People who want boosting will know how to find it. It just won’t be allowed to be advertised in-game anymore.

Sure, just like gold selling still does. But getting banned will be a much bigger deterrent for doing those sort of things.

Yeah, I didn’t think they made boosting against the FF14 ToS…just advertising in group finder

in what way did they “kill boosting”?

It’ll still happen, but it won’t be so in your face and taking over chat channels. I don’t think a lot of people are so much against boosting as they are sick of being spammed 24/7.

isnt that exactly what wow has done? or is this one of those things where its like: ah yes ff14 good, wow bad because reasons!

Well to be fair, there is a world of difference between saying it is against the rules and “killing” it. At most all they will do is drive the advertisement out of the game and on to third party sites and discord. I mean Blizzard has been fighting boting and RMT for 12+ years and yet hasn’t “killed” it yet.

In FF you can rent a friend for 200-300k

But boosting is a problem XD

10 bucks and a coke that every forum dude who is so against boosts is in favor of the friendship moose/bird groups, and may have even lined up to participate in it.

It will. But it won’t be in-your-face disruptive, as it is here.

As others have said they did not kill boosting.

Thanks for listening I’m glad to be here

Will it also be against the rules to boost a low iLVL guildy?

The rule is against co-opting party finder to advertise your boosting services. Not against boosting itself.

Nah, FF14 has mods that actually care.
