Tauren, Vulpera, pandas, worgen WoW has 4 furry races lol and people still like the game. Lolis I assume your talking about lalafel we have Gnomes. Same with the shota also gnomes.
Honestly, in a world where many people struggle to get out of bed every day… if that’s what does it for them, and they’ve figured out what makes them happy… that’s great
Many people spend their entire lives trying to figure out what makes them happy
I’m going to assume you’re one of those people
On the topic of the actual game, I have a very hard time finding anything MMO-wise that competes with WoW. One thing that really stands out to me is how much you can customize the UI on WoW. I love it! And then things like weak auras… fricken cool!
Aside from that, I don’t think anything tops WoWs difficulty level when it comes to dungeons and raids. They’re extremely well done and have improved over time. They have not stopped improving at all IMO. And if you’re not into mythic raids, there’s heroic and normal, which allows for them to appeal to a very wide audience.
I play TBC right now though because I didn’t get to raid everything. And even in TBC, though they’re not the hardest, they still require a sizable amount of your team to perform tasks, or be punished if you don’t. The fights are still well done even if you ignored how old they were and how long ago they were made.
I just don’t see that in final fantasy… and I am still someone who plays FF1-9 on consoles and emulators still to this date. They’re masterpieces and timeless, just like these classic servers are. Big big FF fan. Just not the MMO
WoW - can do what baseline…show/hide action bars, move the focus target frame…and that’s about it?
FF14 - can show/hide action bars, can make the action bars stack either in a 12 slot column, two side-by-side 6 slot columns, three side-by-side 4 slot columns, etc until it’s a single 12 slot row. You can also increase/reduce the size of the action bar and change its opacity. You can also move the action bar anywhere you want on the screen.
And all these options? You can do the same to your character portrait, mini map, your target, focus target, cast bars, party nameplates, buffs/debuff, quest tracker, all of it. Every window on the screen can be adjusted and personalized in some way.
To get that kind of customization in WoW, you have to download a third-party mod, and then update it every patch or maintenance update or else either it bugs or it causes something else to bug.
I love playing both WoW and FF14, but when people say things like the UI in FF14 isn’t customizable or is worse than WoW’s? You’re either trolling or you didn’t actually bother to look for the “customize HUD” button in the base menu.
Now if you have an issue with the art design behind the UI (like, you really miss the little silver dragon border thing on the action bars) then that’s a different story. To each their own in that regard. But FF14’s UI is baseline insanely customizable.
