We already know that paredzond will be the final BOSS of the expansion. Now we have to analyze if the final fight against Murozond will be more epic than Garrosh and Deathwing. Garrosh almost conquered Azeroth with his great army and Deathwing almost destroyed all of Azeroth with his followers, now you have to wonder what Murozond is capable of doing to attack the Destruction of Azeroth?
Murozond could erase our timeline from existence. I dunno about you, but I don’t want to be erased from existence.
Has the potential of either being the most compelling villain or the least compelling villain. He can go to any point and attempt to destroy us. Which is also a banger for hype reasons. Well of Eternity is one of the best aesthetics ever provided to a zone IMHO and if they go to this route with the infinite but don’t utilize past events again I think I’ll be thoroughly disappointed.
Murozond is one of my favorites! Serious badassery.
Murozond was defeated in a 5man before… I’m sure we can do it again. we’ve grown strong since.
What? No we don’t know that.
Thanks for the spoiler warning…
I think it is going to be Galakrond or Chromatus.
edit: Maybe caused by the IDF but they will not be the end boss.
I’m fairly certain that video is just pure clickbait, but if in some way he is, I kinda hope he’s like a Gorgon from Destiny.
Yep. The IDF will be part of it but not the end boss.
I hope the final raid is like an even edgier version of End Time
If he does end up being the final boss of the expac, I hope his fight takes us through multiple zones/timelines/points-in-history, and the final phase ends with us helping out our past selves in that 5-man instance since that is supposed to be his confirmed actual death.
imagine each phase being from one of the CoT instances or raids… Hyjal phase where we’re fighting him as Jaina’s base gets overrun, then another phase where we’re in the black morass where we can see Medivh in the distance, but we’re way off to the side dealing with our own add portals while a group of 5 adventurers deal with theirs, then another phase where we’re chasing him through the burning streets of stratholme… they could do a lot of fun stuff with a Murozond fight.
My money is on Chromatus being the final boss.
Honestly, I hope that Murozond is only the penultimate boss, like Elisande, so that the encounter can be more esoteric in design. Time travel boss has so much potential.
Blizzard is usually pretty tame on final boss designs - most final bosses are basically the exact same and in some cases feel almost like a rip-off of each other (see: Blackhand vs Denathrius). Meanwhile, Blizzard is willing to be a bit more ambitious with the design of the penultimate boss because if it ends up being bad, at least its not the final boss (doesn’t stop guilds from malding of course, see SLG, but I find the complaints a bit defanged).
So far, we’ve had a boss fight where the player can restart time/the fight multiple times (5-man Murozond), we’ve had a boss fight where the boss restarts time/the fight multiple times (Elisande), we’re getting a boss where the boss rewinds the environments time while we continue forward in time (Eternus)… it might be interesting if we had a boss where time keeps moving forward but the boss partially rewinds us. Could be a potentially interesting dance mechanic, pre-dodging mechanics, or having to stack at some place and then in the future killing an add to create a safe zone, only for him to “pull you out of the safe zone” by rewinding time and having to had already been where the safe spot will be in the future in order to stay in the safe spot. Tank bomb mechanic where the tank gets rewinded back to when he first got the bomb, so you have to move the whole raid away instead of having the tank move out of the raid. That kind of thing.
If Murozond is trying to undo his own death, it might be interesting to see him using the power to undo time in a localized way. Ironic, he could use his powers to reverse time, preventing the death of others, but not himself.
I just hope it’s not a one and done in the final patch, but something that carry’s over to the next xpack.
It would be nice to have us be humbled for once and be forced to retreat from the big bad
I dont know… Sylvanas fight does that but poorly.
Maybe they could be like Yogg portal rooms, where only a few members need go in to deal with it? I dunno, I just feel like it would be underwhelming if we fight the time-altering boss in a single static room, and thought referencing CoT instances would be a neat way to change the scenery. Bonus points if the portals for small groups were the 5-man dungeons, and an entire raid-wide phase for hyjal, to mirror the original CoT content.
…plus We could do a “back to the future 2” where we have to make sure that our old selves continue to be successful, which is an idea I usually enjoy in time-travel plots.
edit: it could also finally explain why we went to hyjal in the first place, since there’s not a single sign of the infinite flight messing with it originally… Maybe Murozond pops into the undead base and starts buffing the undead and demons, and we have to stop them before they get out and steamroll our past selves or something.
That was just a temporary setback
She’s been with us all this time planned her great debut. She’s grown tired of being small and watching me create endless alts
