A lot of folks thinking corsair/pirate but what about the other one?
Yoshi P had a shirt on from the new ninja turtles movie. what could it mean?

I’ve seen some people think Rune Fencer/Mystic Knight instead of Corsair, though Rune Fencer/Mystic Knight tend to be more tanky than DPS in previous FF games.
As for the t-shirt, we already have Monk, Ninja, and Samurai… so, maybe it’s reference to the turtles themselves. I’ve seen some comments suggest Green Mage since the turtles are green. There’s also the theory that since the turtles are all named after famous artist, it’ll be a job based around calligraphy and magical inks. I’m pretty sure an “ink mage” would be a first for the FF franchise, but it’s not an uncommon archetype in other Asian RPGs.
Not really familiar with FFXIV and the whole shirt hint system they’ve done before, but speculation I’ve seen online seems to discuss Corsair, BeastMaster, Pictomancer, and Geomancer the most.
Corsair seems fairly likely with the trailer, setting and NPC’s, as opposed to the shirt hinting anything for it. I feel like the only thing really is “Pirates vs Ninjas” theme, which based on the shirt, is a bit of a stretch IMO.
The shirt makes me feel BeastMaster hints are more likely since TMNT involves animal mutants fighting it out (Mutant Mayhem on the bottom helps that out), and one of the creators’ name is “Kevin Brooks Eastman,” which people are thinking they might be doing something similar to Samurai’s reveal hint (if I recall correctly), with it being similar to “K Beastman.” I think there are other hints as well that I’m not remembering currently.
That said, I’m aware of the whole thing about BeastMasters in that they were considered as a potential limited job, which I hate the concept of in general. However, they are a popular requested class where some of the employees working on the game and even one of the creators of Final Fantasy as a whole want it in as a class. Honestly, if it did get in as a full class, I’d seriously try the game out, but I’m going to assume Corsair is more likely at present given the trailer.
As for the other class, I lean towards Pictomancer, mostly because of the TMNT names and seeing people mention how it could be implemented with some NPC’s fitting the role of it quite well in the game. Others have brought up Geomancers as well because of turtles specifically, but I feel like Pictomancer is a bit more obvious.
Whatever the classes are, hopefully they’ll be revealed sooner than later. If the planets align and BeastMaster gets in as a full class, I may give FFXIV a try as a secondary MMO to complement WoW. I don’t expect it as a full pet class, but having an animal companion I can change the looks of and would assist in attacks would be just fine.
Always interesting to see what new classes and playable races other MMO’s get in expansions.
