is it really so hard to ask?
I tank dungeons to level and/or get my newest tank up and it never fails…every single dungeon…dps are in SUCH a hurry to get to where i am (i move fast and get ahead of them to get threat on stuff)–they NEVER pay attention to where they are running and they pull extra stuff or they dont pay attn to where they are standing and they pull pats.
give me a break…PAY ATTENTION. this game is 200 years old–situational awareness should not be such a tall order. And ranged? You dont have to be SOOO far back …you can come in a bit …especially in places with lots of pats like NO and BH. Ugh
Stop squirting through patrol lines and taking bad paths, mister tank.
LOL if i can get through a path without pulling, so can you…even if that means you might have to wait a sec b/c you were too slow to get through a pat the first time. That’s all i’m saying. 9 times out of 10, people don’t care if they pull b/c they are trying to rush to keep up when they dont really need to do that.
i don’t care in leveling dungeons but there’s nothing more annoying in a key than having people repeatedly pull extra garbage and then complain about “your” route after the timer runs out
“stay with the tank” is apparently a SUPER complicated strategy
Have you seen how much junk I have in this trunk?
If this is in the context of keys, sure. If this is leveling dungeons, I tank them with the assumption that anything on the primary path will be butt pulled and I just pull it. Usually it takes less time to just kill 'em than get people on board with the skip.
stopped reading there. you’re talking about leveling dungeons. just GO!
YOU know what path you’re taking, we do not. Why not just take the standard path or let us know you’re taking a different one?
Oh lol this is about leveling dungeons. Nvm, nobody in there knows what the fk they are doing, it’s always a mess. Just grab the aggro and go.
let them die. when they cry, troll.
It’s just going to happen in leveling dungeons, so be prepared for it.
Also, I used to get really angry at players who didn’t appear to pay attention or play well, but ever since my mother started gaming for the first time last year, it’s been a real eye-opener for how hard basic things that you and I take for granted are for new players. Add players with disabilities into the mix (I recently met a player who is paralyzed on one side), and your group may not perform as perfectly as you as had hoped.
Different people have different capabilities, it is what it is, and you just have to be patient and work around things like butt-pulling in random leveling dungeons.
I just heal through it. It’s going to happen, players are going to make mistakes. No biggie.
its not rocket science to expect people to follow the tank and pay attn to the surroundings, if you see a pat coming for you.then WAIT until it’s safely out the way THEN come to me…like…i dont get this whoel…“oh i’m just gonna walk through everything b/c i’m dumb” BS
Let it go ![]()
If you want better players in your group, run harder content. Losing your marbles over leveling dungeons is goofy.
I’m glad you finally came to this realization, this is why I’m patient with everyone. However, I doubt many (not all) players will realize this epiphany as well.
To Noshedidnt: I see your dilemma: why play so that the dungeon is enjoyable to everyone. I, frankly, HATE the speed tanks. You do not get aggro on the mobs you run thru. DPS and heals is left trying not to die due to the aggro if we hit the mobs or if heals actually tries to heal anyone on the run. Go ahead and speed tank…in fact, why don’t you solo run the dungeons if the other players are such a bother.
not speed tanking…jumping ahead to get aggro since every dps wants to open with aoe even when mobs aren’t positioned. This just requres you to pay attn to where you are going …that’s not a lot to ask. Stop focusing on the meters and focus on not wiping us. thanks
that is the most lame comeback ever. i’m asking you to pay attention. THat’s it. If i can make it past pats and mobs without pulling them, so can you.
Usually tanks are the ones in the hurry, so DPS follow suit. Plus, you’re leveling through dungeons… typically, people want to level faster not slower and you’re going to be dealing with newer players. Maybe play M+ with an organized group?
