FF14 stinks

It really does from the great storyline to the treasure hunts, chocobo racing , the golden saucer, to the amazing professions, to having your own island and housing, to the beast tribe quests , amazing mounts and minions, over the top RP , rave parties, and the professions having a rotation, content delivered on a regular basis, devs listening to player feedback, hard to master classes with positionals, out of this world raid bosses, retainers that keep your gold and sell stuff for you, people playing music around every city, no grind for bis gear, i mean it goes on and on and it just really stinks.

Wouldn’t this be better suited to…their forum? This one is about World of Warcraft.

I’ve been enjoying it. I’m still in heavensward though lol

My character has no trouble holding his own gold or creating auctions.

I tried FFXIV and I’m not convinced half the people working on that knew it was a MMO.

I appreciate you paying that monthly sub just to let us all know what you think of FF14. You guys are determined I’ll give you that.

WoW is the least enjoyable of the three MMOs that I play. However it does have the best forum PvP, so here I am.

I tried it. I felt like I was throwing into the deep end with dive weights and told to swim. I was overwhelmed and quit after a bit. I couldn’t get into it.

I’ve downloaded the game multiple times, and never got past the character creation screen

It has group content, a massive, persistent world, and large social communities. What gives you the perception that it’s not an MMO?

The problem with retainers is they are your bank and if you send them on missions, you can’t access your items.

The gear timegate. The forced cutscenes if 1 of 5 watch you sit in that box till they are done. The exact same release cadence and gear/rep grind everytime. THe you actually gotta pay cash monthly not gold like this option. I enjoyed ff14 for a bit catching up after that disaster of launch now i play this again after 13 years. Both are better in different ways but I will never go back to ff14 but you obvi like so keep playing it.

I made the monthly sub in the time it took me to walk from my locker room to my office today. WoW is sub and forget, similar to Netflix or a gym.

It’s insanely slow and boring, with the constant caveat of “Just keep playing, it gets better!”

Nah.

Its ok. I wasnt a real fan of Final Fantasy overall after the OG one on the NES and when they went away from the old school fantasy and brought in the more sci-fi angle.

FFXIV doesn’t have enough of a edge/grit for me.

If this is what turned you away from FFXIV, boy do I have some news for you about WoW

It’s more of a joke.

but the game is very obsessed with its main story questline to the point of locking a bunch of stuff behind it. Which while you do get to run a dungeon once in a while, the MSQ also rather frequently demands that you solo. It wont even let you do a lot of quests while you’re in a group.

The MSQ feels a lot like it was designed as a single-player experience, and then shoved into a MMO.

and unfortunately they forced it to be the highlight of leveling. There is basically no other option.

There is no gear timegate at all you get your bis gear from the marketboard, or get a friend who crafts to make it or make it yourself, that gear is good enough to clear all the raids and all difficulties right from day one.

To each his own. I don’t pay monthly subs to games or streams that I have no interest in. That would be throwing money down the drain. But thank you for your contribution to WOW all the same. :grinning:

Kaching!!! It’s worth your buck to play classic and retail. I’m paying 2 subs right now for both WoW and ff14
