A lot of people, clearly.
I will give them that. Mike Ybarra has been amazing. Iām actually pretty hopeful. But Ion and JAB were absolutely terrible.
Thatās your opinion. To me, it means a lot.
Ion comes off like a robot and shouldnāt give interviews in my opinion because he has a dry sense of humor and people take everything he says out of context. Morgan Day is way better and more charismatic.
Yea.
They should start handing out week long bans for starting FF threads at this point.
The FF14 is better than WoW ship has already sailed in my opinion. As does the outrage and negative clickbait videos. Itās time for people to start resorting to constructive criticism like Bellular did and itās what Iām seeing more on WoWhead and reddit.
They used to invest in people to communicate with us. Remember Ythsins? That was peak WoW for me. Heās one of the reasons that Legion is so memorable. The guy literally came into the monk discord to ask for suggestions to relay to the devs.
Now itās justā¦ āCheck out the MDI.ā Well, outside of this past week or two.
Again, Iām hopeful. But Iām also super skeptical.
None of the people in my guild (and now Free Company) are there because of Asmongold, weāre there to do Ultimates and have fun playing something together again. Which Shadowlands has been unable to do for us, Blizzard sucked the fun out of WoW in BfA and itās only gotten worse now. We had hoped that this would be the āgoodā expansion to outweigh the absolute slog that was BfA, butā¦ here we are.
FFXIV is cross-platform, and as such is created to run on PS4 architecture. It is unfortunately shackled to that outdated tech. Personally, I think the game is really pretty, and the spell effects in particular are really enjoyable.
One press release isnāt gonna make up for multiple years of radio silence. No acknowledgement of feedback in alphas/betas or even retail releases. No community engagement at all. The devs have treated the playerbase like the enemy since we disagreed with their desire to remove flying in WoD.
Sure, ban discussion. Great idea. rolls eyes
The OP didnāt start the thread to have a discussion.
So take a hike with your eye roll.
At the end of the day it comes down to you letting go of your own distrust. Iām just seeing the olive branch being handed out.
I also have noticed hotfixes have stopped, the PTR server was put online last week, and weāre getting hints about 9.1.5 which makes me think itās coming to the PTR very soon.
Actually we know the awnser and itās yes.
They even apologoized for waiting times and full servers and announced to update their servers and create more.
They are even willing to pay more than the usual market price to get it done soon.
Does this need for trolls to make 2 FF14 threads a hour? Telling Blizzard FF14 is such a epic legendary game. I think they get it by now.
The question is do they care?
And yet discussion happened? Life finds a way.
blows kiss
Iām actually going to start muting people because sometimes I forget who the trolls are.
Since when is speaking the truth trolling?
Oh they definitely care. They lose money.
I donāt care if the President of square Enix shows up in front of my house on a fancy pink doodoo mount and mows my lawn.
Still wonāt play it.
To each their own. You are doing yourself a disservice by not at least looking into it though. Imagine if you stuck to your guns as a child when your parents would force you to try new food.
āNo! I donāt wanna! I donāt like it!ā
You havenāt even tried it yet.
Ps. They are called Chocobos.
Itās gonna take some serious work for them to earn my trust again, they have so utterly destroyed the faith I had in them as a company. I used to be in the game industry, I was an animator (I work in healthcare now), everything that is happening to them right now lawsuit-wise hits too close to home, it brought up a lot of really bad memories and made me relive my departure from the game industry all over again. This game used to be my escape, and now it makes me feel sick to look at the BNet launcher.
But even putting aside all of the emotional baggage, if I come at this from a purely logical economical perspective, they have given me no incentive to continue paying them as a customer. The lack of content that has plagued this expansion has been a massive problem. They clearly fundamentally do not understand why we found Legion fun because they keep taking the worst parts of it and iterating on those instead of the actual reasons we had fun.
The only thing they consistently do well is raid content, and when we lose half of all raiding guilds from one patch to the next, this is a huge issue. Less players, smaller recruiting pool, more of a headache to maintain the roster.
Ion has the look of a man who has been beaten down and told no at every turn and is now phoning it in for a paycheck.
