FF14 has the opposite mentality for parses

Here in WoW, people want a fast, smooth runs with strict loot rules and harsh punishments for people not meeting their expectations.

FF14 is like “we’re doing a minimum ilvl run, bring your worst gear and we’re gonna clear this fight anyway. Do whatever you want with loot.”

Guess which one has a friendlier playerbase and has fun?

In ff14 you can solo the raids, so other people’s bad doesn’t effect you.

FF14 is very casual as well, and the best gear for stats/power doesn’t require the hardest kills, rather the hardest kills award you with the fancy looks and unique mogs.

Sooooo…

Lol, you don’t know what you are talking about. One extreme or ultimate raid makes Wow look like a children’s playground. People over here still standing in fire.

But yeah OP. That game is different mindsets on many different scales. It only ever got muddied up when the wow people made their exodus. People in wow will only take top-tier classes, strictly check gear, and then let third-party programs play the game for them, and they still perform poorly.

FFXIV is a different animal. The fights are all tightly tuned, and overgearing them by even a little bit can almost trivialize them.

My static struggled on Titan HM when ARR first launched as we all had quest/dungeon gear. We came back with one tier higher gear and face rolled him. The heal checks were easy, the DPS checks were cake. We didn’t massively improve as players over that time. It was a different fight.

That creates a situation where if you want to enjoy the content, you have to do min iLvL.

FFXIV is wildly more complex than Classic WoW, but most people find retail more difficult. That is partly because WoW kind of sucks at telegraphs and visibility while FFXIV is god tier.

APEX Legends. It’s a great MMORPG that also has a PVP side-game.

Stand here. Stack there. Follow the arrow. Remember the pattern. Repeat.

FF14 high end raids are equivalent to retail mythic content, but like I said, you don’t need to do them to get power. You do them so you can look like the Warrior of Light.

I’ve played FF14 since 2.0 and let me tell you nothing can be further from the truth. There is a subset of raiders who are absolutely parse fanatical and there are ‘metas’ people prefer, although not quite the same as WoWs.

In fact, you are required to bring specific roles and almost always, of each of those roles, 1 or two jobs are preferred highly over others overall.

And let me assure you, their player base is as fanatical and, sometimes, as toxic as WoWs worst.

FF14 is also not built in the Warcraft universe.

I mean how can you have a FINAL Fantasy FOURTEEN? Shouldn’t it have stopped after 1?

So, we’re talking about the 0.1% of their community. Lmao cherry picking. See, 99% of the community there don’t give a damn what you play.

In WoW, only a small subset of players DON’T care about hyper optimising the group.

I’d argue FFXIV Ultimates are harder than WoW mythic raids. DSR took a week for Neverland to clear which when you compare 1:1 to WF Mythic raids in WoW they usually take a tad bit longer (I think) but that’s multiple bosses whereas this is one boss and no trash.

EDIT: Also, idk OP. FFXIV has a sort of… passive aggressive toxicity. I’ve put over 10k hours into the game and it’s by far my favorite game, but I prefer WoW parse culture because you can at least talk about it in-game and try to help others improve. If you try to help someone improve in FFXIV it quickly becomes “you don’t pay my sub / how do you know im doing x dps / etc”

This is not true. Bad players do think this though.

And its someone you play with regularly (your static) they will talk about it like normal people.

You’re referring to correcting randos in the party finder.

I mean, idk what statics you’re going into but every static I’ve been in has expected

Have fun! Hope you get all the low geared, crappy runs your heart desires or whatever it is they do in that weird no pvp game

The PvP isn’t great for sure, but they’ve made some pretty decent improvements recently. Crystalline Conflict is actually pretty decent.

FF14 is a bunch of telegraphed fights with no RNG.

All the fights look the same.

Wow uses RNG so the same fight for 2 different raids looks completely different, which is why the world first races have 600 wipes on a boss.

FF14 removed the RNG elements and everything is on a timer that happens every time on that timer, it’s just all memorization.

Chill groups that like to play at minimum ilvl and let people learn at their own pace.

Boss still dies, before you try to tell me it doesn’t work.
