Retail would be insanely better if it would implement long time sinks(that don’t become irrelevant with each passing exapnsion) and the variety that FF14 has.

The only thing that sucks about FF14 is the way it forces single player combat on you. Other than that, its everything a modern MMO should be.

Not everyone agrees with how FFXIV is. I hated every single aspect of FFXIV.
The raids felt terrible, almost like dungeons.
The game had too much of a typical WOW roleplay server thing going on.
The game didn’t have what I wanted which was high end content which I wanted similar to WOW.
Not to mention, addons aren’t allowed on FFXIV. You can have them yes, but you can’t talk about them with other players without getting a suspension or something.

FFXIV is just the censored version of Blade and Soul; now thanks to SE newest direction, you can have your sack of potatoes or cat ear fetishes in NFTs directly in game.

I play both games.
Both games are good.
And IMO both games could be improved on.
FF14 does not have NFTs and Yoshi P announced that it never would.
I would be interested to hear where this is from?

I don’t have cat ear fetishes. I have long MMO time sink fetishes and FF14 does that better and more numerously than anything other modern MMO.

LMAOOOOO ok ur not wrong but u can skip through the dialogue/cut scenes pretty fast. i got through most of the msq in like 3 days maybe less and i wasn’t even playing it super effeciently

I’d love more armor customization, like dyes and such!
Also skirts and silted robes…Those would be pretty nice…

I agree with you there. Thats the only glaring weakness of FF14. That you can’t do all the content with other people.
You know… back in vanilla → TBC → WotLK it had a consistent progression. Things you did were still relevant as each one built upon the other. I think once we got into Mists and then on into Warlords we saw this concept of neat expansion thing… and it was completely dropped for the next flavor. And then they doubled down each time on this in future expansions. Scenarios, Garrisons, Legion Artifacts, Island Expeditions, etc.

If WoW would enforce their social contract to the same degree that SE does with theirs, I think the game would become a lot better overnight.
But then again this is Blizzard here the same company that hid sexual abuse for years.
