Hello. Played many many moons ago so have a few questions:
Can I trade gold with anyone on any server or any faction?
Can I trade items with anyone on any server or any faction?
Can I send another character on my account gold if they are different faction/server?
a. If answer is no, can I email it to another license on same bnet account (wow2)?
Is the auction house shared between all servers/factions. All items?
You can trade gold with anyone on any server, BUT ONLY SAME FACTION.
You can trade items with anyone on any server, BUT ONLY SAME FACTION.
You can NOT mail gold or items to your own characters on a different server. You can NOT mail gold or items to your own characters on a different faction.
Auction House is shared between all servers and factions, BUT FOR STACKABLE ITEMS ONLY. “Stackable” would be items like Trade Goods and Consumables that can have more than one in a storage slot, but not armour, weapons, and bags.
I don’t understand your 3a. You can NOT email gold or items to ANY character on a different server or a different faction.
Blizzard sees the “account” as the Battle net account, which includes all licenses under the Battle net. (You can have up to 8.) So all licenses under a Battle net account (like WoW1 and WoW2) are treated as one account when it comes to account bound stuff. (As well as stuff like instant mail between characters.)
The main exception I can think of is that you can buy out an auction posted by one license from another license. This is more of an artifact. The reasons to do this have been pretty much eliminated by the cross faction auction house and the ability to mail cross faction.
Anyhow, here are the current mail rules:
You can send account bound items cross server and cross faction. (And, as mentioned above, this includes across different licenses on the same Battle net.)
You can mail gold and items cross faction to your other characters if they are on the same server. (Or connected servers, which the game treats as one server for anything server-bound. Mannoroth is connected to Azgalor, Azshara, Destromath, Thunderlord, Blood Furnace, and Nazjatar.) Again, this includes across licenses on the same Battle net.
You cannot mail stuff that is not Battle net account bound across servers at all.
A late reply but you actually can trade gold and items cross faction, but you need a middle man. You can’t mail it to yourself, but you could get a friend and meet up in an instance as opposite faction people (making you both friendly to each other) and then be able to trade items. I have helped ferry items across servers and factions for a few friends that way.
