Is anyone else noticing weird ferocious bite damage numbers?
I was in a dungeon and noticed that a sabertooth + BT enhanced bite crit was doing only around 60-70k frequently, way low.
I started noticing generally that it seems to be sort of inconsistent on the damage it does to various enemies, it seems to do low damage for no reason I understand.
FB does X damage for 25 energy, but will consume up to an extra 25 Energy (if available) to do up to 2X damage. There’s also the fact that it consumes up to 5 combo points to do more damage. A FB used with 1 CP and 25 energy won’t do anything noteworthy.
In addition, you may not have had Tigers Fury up.
Something is definitely up that blizzard never divulged. I went from 140k-180k crits down to 120k crits in ep and I haven’t changed anything but my cloak.
I’m almost ready to transition over to my unholy dk 
I haven’t paid much attention to my FB crits, but my dps hasn’t dropped any. My DPS is still hitting around the 30-35k mark single target.
I thought I might be the only one to see Bites feeling a bit off.
Albeit I hit some higher crits around the 120 to 130k mark. The wet noodle ones need some sort of protection against.
Nothing worse than having all your bleeds up, sitting on your predatory swiftness to 4 combo points, poping Tiger’s Fury and hitting Rake to empower it up with TF/BT and seeing 50+ energy and Wet Noodle Biting the mob,
I saw I Shred much hard than some of those Bits, and that just feel bad.
I’d say my avrg bite none crit is maybe 35k.
(Just got 3 FB’s off with all my bleeds and blood talons and tiger’s fury up and they were 35k each, back to back to back. Just a bad taste in the mouth. Next boss I got lucky two crits with full bleeds going, no beserk popped and hit 76k and 80k with crits. Much lower than before.)
TDRL: I do think something is off/wrong with Ferocious Bite at this time.
I had one noticeable instance of it, but didn’t get to analyze it since I realized it too late.
I swapped to predator from sabertooth for the uldum stuff and was doing around 30k/70k bites. I didn’t really think about, just like “okay that’s what I do without sabertooth.” then while doing the “getting a-head” quest, going back and forth with the big bugs, I just suddenly started doing 50/100k hits with bites, which continued the rest of the evening (including other areas and a dungeon)
I dunno. I also haven’t noticed an overall DPS loss. Maybe it’s just an interface bug? I wonder if the combat log and the numbers that show up in the world would disagree.
There’s definitely an invasion mob that gives you the curse that makes your spells cost more energy, which would lead to bites doing less
Shouldn’t be happening in raids/dungeons though
Feels like some bites are hitting for less but I don’t super notice it in my DPS so idk.
I was noticing my FB was looking lower than usual not sure why that was.
Ferocious Meow has been weird the entire expansion. Sometimes it crits for ~60k, sometimes 140k.
It’s got a weird damage range to be sure.

some of that range comes from whether or not you have 50 energy going into the bite or not, bloodtalons to use or not, and if Tiger’s Fury is up or not.
I often have all of the above and the FB or FM 
still seem to be weaker than normal?
Yeah, I know some of the variance comes from having your buffs up & I make sure to Never bite under 50 energy.
It’s just really jarring to see a 60k crit followed by a 120k crit, followed by a 60k crit all from the same ability & my overall DPS isn’t suffering so it’s nbd.
One day I’m gonna put on my bear gear (full mastery & verse), and then stack ALL THE BUFFS just to see how big I can get a bite.

Yes that is more what I’m talking about, i’m doing the buffs up, 50 energy bits but the crits are all over the place 65k seems to be low with highs in the 120k range.
Last night full raid buffs and some different essences I saw 175k range but only a handful of times.
So I’m not sure what is wrong with FB at this time.
