I’ve tried looking around for information on the potential threat of this combination, even checked the classic druid discord a few times and haven’t found anything.
I’m assuming MCP + Kiss of the spider attack speed stack together? 70% more mauls sounds nuts. Warrior parsings in the mid to upper 90’s can’t beat me on vael, will this just push the feral threat threshold into overdrive?
It will push any damage/swing timer based threat into overdrive.
It’s bonkers.
They should work together, but Vanilla being Vanilla, it could be 70% (additive) or it could be 80% (multiplicative) or it could be 50% (MCP overwrites/prevents Kiss) or it could be 20% (Kiss overwrites/prevents MCP).
If I had to guess though I would stick with 70% as the combined value for now until testing proves otherwise. Haste from other effects like Iron Counterweight and Libram of Rapidity just adds, and Kiss of the Spider shouldn’t (hopefully) act like Juju Flurry or Seal of the Crusader.
Kiss of the Spider is absolutely at the top of my threat list for Naxx.
A more important question is, which guild would give it to a meme class over a true DPS?
The same guilds clearing it day one and are keeping their ferals happy for tbc. Tears of bads are delicious.
Why would you waste it on a DPS class when you can turn your Feral Tank into a DPS instead? Or more accurately, turn your Feral Tank into an even better DPS than he or she already is.

IDK, I don’t raid in a guild where they have this novel idea that a tank that cant use pots is a good idea. Druids are worse than warrior tanks, so I raid with zero ferals, just one druid healer for buff and faerie fire.

I’m not playing TBC, just classic so I don’t care. Plus most in my guild have 2 alts to adjust what’s good and what isn’t.

Our guild will walk through the portal ready for tbc. Hardly worried especially since tier 3 stuff is useful to clear 4 and even 5. You enjoy the dusty museum piece you say you’re tied to.

Except that ferals can use pots while tanking easily and safely but don’t let reality get in your way lol
If you think a Druid can’t use potions while Tanking, you have zero credibility in assessing their abilities or strengths.

Feral tanks can absolutely use pots. They’re off the GCD so you can make a macro to cancel form, use a pot, and then go back into bear. This happens instantly and it’s impossible to get hit while out of bear form with a macro.
And if I’m not mistaken, shifting in and out of bear adjusts your HP by percentage. So using a health pot or health stone out of form and then going into bear effectively heals for more than a warrior would.
That’s entirely dependant on the encounter and whether you’re talking about main or off tanking. Making global statements like this just doesn’t really apply to anything in Classic. There are many cases where what is best in DPS, healing or tanking changes from encounter to encounter.

most people won’t even be in the same guild. so planning loot around TBC Is moot. many people won’t even return for it. guilds will disintegrate in the long wait for TBC after naxx has satisfied raiders
