Feral PvP Question

Hi, I am a committed feral druid and i just came back not too long ago. I use icy veins for guides. I was looking at the feral and something seems to be strange or changed. In the talent section it recommends lunar inspiration for moonfire, but during the tips about burst windows or kills it says to refresh rip with furious bite? How am i supposed to refresh rip when the guide says use the other talent? o.O. I am mostly an arena player, etc.

don’t ever spec out of sabertooth for pvp

Alright, i’ll give it a try… Yeah starting to make sense… sigh… wish these guides were more accurate and icy is supposed to be the lead…

I did a bunch of duels outside of Org today. Lost most of them. Partly because I suck at PvP but then again…I changed from Lunar Inspiration to Sabertooth and won 2/2. Being able to build combo points while kiting is advantages, especially since we Ferals can’t stand toe-to-toe with other melee DPS so we have to kite. But the loss of mad deeps is almost unacceptable and big Bites is what wins.

Gone are the days of having both. Take Sabertooth or Tigers Fury buff (depending on your Jungle Fury Azerite choices) and practice practice practice.

Icy Veins is like a yield sign, Its only helpful MOST of the time. Some times, like Feral PvP, it is not.

and wat am i supposed to do when blood talons is till the go to last talent but i get locked at 4cps and do not have lunar inspiration to make it 5? Put up a sub-optimal 4 with predator swiftness or waste energy to shred? I swear combining these two is the most hurtful thing they did to feral mains.

I know, and I agree. But we have to work with what is given to us. Bloodtallons is great and I swear by it BUT…

BUT BUT BUT

Personally I have found that PvP is too chaotic to time Bloodtalon procs to 5 CP finishing moves. I need a heal or a root before I am ready so I, just in PvP, began using Feral Frenzy. Bloodtalons is still better when used optimally; and in PvP, IMHO, that is tough.

So I offer this: open with rake which stuns, apply thrash (for Wild Fleshrending buff) get one shred in and Rip; that should be a 3-4 CP Rip. Here is the tricky part: you need to refill your energy so Jungle Fury, shred till 5 CP’s and Bite, then Feral Frenzy, then Bite again (that’s two 5-point Bites in a row).

The tricky part is not getting CC’ed before that first bite: if that happens then Rip falls off and its GG so you HAVE to stun during those shreds to buy you time. But then you are out of your stuns but Rip is now at 30 seconds.

The point is to use that PvP talent Ferocious Wounds; with those 2 bites you just lowered their health by 16%. That’s huge AND that’s your money maker. From there it is luck and skill to survive until your bleeds, bites, heals, and roots win the day.

I struggle with anticipation: since we can’t kite (because we don’t have lunar inspiration) we HAVE to go toe-to-toe. SO anticipation is key. Anticipate when a stun or damage CD is coming your way and preemptively shift into bear form, or get away in travel form/jump. Hope that dose not happen before you can get those two bites off…

It is tough. It truly is a burden to our PvP viability. Playing a Feral Druid perfect makes us almost unstoppable, but that is almost impossible. I wish I had better news and I hope other Feral’s will correct me were I am wrong and provide their best advice.

Sorry this was so long.
