Feral or Guardian for solo leveling and delves?

I used to play balance but I thought I would have better luck surviving with another spec. I havent played much in the last couple expansions. I am looking to level my druid who is 70. I like a steady, survivable playstyle. I want to solo quests, world quests, and delves. I dont have much gold so twinking isnt an option. Also bonus question, would two gathering profs be easier and more beneficial starting out?

i generally prefer tanking so I am biased. guardian is great for the content you describe.

elune’s chosen is perfect for delves. aoe damage is excellent. instant regrowth in addition to frenzied regen makes you very difficult to kill.

gathering herbs in flight form is very efficient. if you take mining, you go to character form, but insta-mount afterwards. i have made at least 600k gold doing that this expansion. i have spent most of it too

the only real “problem” i have had is with zekvir ?. their single target damage is light compared to other tanks. at 605 ilevel, i have only gotten him to 19% one time. because of the underperforming of bear dps ( and my performance lol) I think I need another ilevel or two. but admittedly, this encounter is pushing my limits as a player.

in the content you describe, bear feels great.

if you are looking to make money, then maybe go with herbs and inscription or alchemy. I might drop mining and take one of those myself.

Either option is fine for leveling. Feral druid is one of the best DPS lacking a pet for leveling because it has a nice combination of damage and survivability while also having the “break glass in emergency” button of bear form. If you’re looking for efficiency while leveling, you will have different pull dynamics with each. With feral druid if you get more than a few mobs you can get into trouble with incoming damage, so you probably don’t want to go too crazy on pulls. Whereas with guardian your weakness is having lower damage output, so it’s usually best to pull entire areas together and slowly burn them down while being unkillable.

As far as delves, I went feral early into guardian around tier 5 and now I’m back to feral with much better gear. By T8, there are some normal swings that are chunking me for a third of my health as feral, so it’s definitely a bit of being a glass cannon. When I first hit 80 I just didn’t have the damage output to burn the bigger mobs before they killed me, which is why I went bear and just outlasted. Then bear also gives a larger margin for error on mechanics, as you can more easily survive not avoiding something you should avoid.

All crafting professions in TWW either require a lot of money or time to get knowledge points. If you aren’t already rolling in gold and want to see somewhat immediate return, double gathering is almost certainly the way to go.

I just wanted to come back and thank you! I am leveling (75 now) as Guardian and having a fun/easy time of it. I took mining and herbalism too and there are so many nodes, its nuts! Thanks again!
