I want to play era and take a break from wotlk, but i want to play a Feral Tank not a Warrior. Are feral tanks viable in Vanilla? While leveling?

Yes they are 100% viable and people love them.
They are good leveling, they are good endgame, though they are slightly preferred as OT over MT in endgame content.

I have maintanked every single boss in the game on a feral druid tank, including Kel’Thuzad himself.
Only thing stopping you is you, at this rate.
Be careful with build, feral tank build cannot level. Will die to multiple mobs near instantly and put out no dps to burn them down.
Those saying bear tank is easy need to post their builds and levels. Do not even get castable fairie fire until like 36 sheesh.
Is it true that, before feral faire fire, I will need to put Regrowth and Rejuv on myself before each pull to build initial threat?
HOT ticks are a great source of AoE threat, sure. So is demo roar. But what will make a bigger difference is keybinding raid marks, marking your skulls / X mobs before the pull, and make sure your DPS generally know the kill priority.

Maul generates a ton of threat.
Autos + maul + demo roar + swipe you can easily hold aggro.
If you do lose it, you can taunt back.

Be prepared to be a war criminal to gnomes though if you wanna push it to the limit though.

Yes, they exist and are real.
Just get stamina and agility gear. That’s all you need for both cat and bear form. Strength is a nice to have, but for tanking both stamina and agility is better.
