Hey quick question maybe its a bug but im able to shred facing the mob now is this intentional? I dont or havent seen a blue post on this being a bug.
Front-shredding has been a thing forever. It’s a real strategy some feral players use while leveling and most use while pvp

Really? I’ve always had to be behind a target to use shred, until I started playing Retail recently.

It is like backstab, it’s just that the hit boxes for animal forms are wonky so you can front shred reliably because of that. If you spam left and right strafe you can front shred almost every time.

so was backstab but it doesn’t work on this client now, they need to fix the druid bug asap
I want to tell you, but dont want to ruin my own selfish fun because it will get nerfed so ill be keeping my secret.
Ill give up front shredding if they fix paladin reckoning and allow it to stack with /sit again. If not the rogue boys can cry more.

Demanding a bug be reintroduced because of something that has allows existed due to hit box design in the original game is peak cringe tbh

yeah frontal backstab is no more on anni servers sadly
My wife has been shredding from the front while she has agro reliably on the anniversary servers
You don’t even need to do that. Just move in a little closer to the mob so that your head is clipping in to the mob and it will register you as behind and shred will work. All you have to do is just nudge your character forward. If positioning is bad for the mob backing up, swivel around and make them back up the other way.
The strafe seizuring works too but it’s not even close to as consistent due to mob reactive movements.
I just logged back in after maintenance today, and can no longer front shred. Mob faces you almost perfectly from every angle no matter how you change direction. This might have been killed?

this is my experience after relogging as well… wishing I had grinded faster with front shreding before it go nerfed, only made it to 38.
Can confirm that front shredding was hit with the bat. No longer works exactly the way I said it did. You can’t even spam strafe to get it work either.
Shame.
Confirmed, definitely fixed it - now I have to train claw and take 3x longer to kill mobs

Wow! Thanks all for confirming, pretty wild decision to change something that has been in the game for so long, but I suppose, Shred was never intended to be used this way lol. Nonetheless, sad day for Classic Druid Leveling.
