Feral Curiosity

Has anyone tried the route of 2 daggers (or a mix-up of the main hand/off-hand…Dagger/Fist Weapon)? Not sure if you can mix up like that (correct my knowledge if you can’t).

It would give Ferals two weapon enchant procs. That has to count for something right? An increase in DPS?

You can’t.

Now I know! Thanks!

Wonder if this thread will receive more replies of those who have personally tested 2 daggers.

Druids can equip various one handed weapons (maces, daggers, fist weapons), but they cannot actually dual wield weapons. Balance and Resto can equip things like an Int Dagger and a Focus offhand because they can equip offhand items. They can’t dual wield, such as with 2 daggers or what not. Yes, this completely contradicts the fact that two of our legendary weapons are a pair of dual daggers and dual fist weapons.

It’s not that you can’t test it, it’s just that we simply cannot dual wield in the first place. As a result, loot tables do not drop any one handed agility weapons despite the fact that we can equip them if we happen to get one.

On a similar topic, I’ve been thinking about it lately and thought it would be nice to be able to dual wield, especially since our auto attack speed is standardized whenever we’re in cat and bear form. All that would need to change is Druids being allowed to have one handed weapon drops available, or perhaps offhand focus items that also contain agility instead of or in addition to intelligence. This could allow Feral Druids for example to have a way to equip things like double Unguent Caress, similar to other melee agility dps clssss.

Oh, I thought he meant you couldn’t mix the weapons. Dagger with Fist weapon at the same time vice versa etc…

Even though I know not much attention will be given to this expansion anymore with the sole focus on Shadowlands now. It probably would’ve helped Feral feel a little smoother having two daggers with 2 weapon enchants (like rogue). Not saying it would’ve put Feral in an OP position, but you would probably have seen them a little more. Definitely would have had a more “moderate” feel imo.

Thanks Flavorpuss for explaining! I would always get a polearm drop and never really thought about daggers or other weapons. It’s as you said, I recognized that in Legion, Ferals were using the legendary daggers. I knew daggers weren’t on the loot table and only recently got the idea to just bring a rogue along to trade any daggers at the end of the dungeon. From there, enchant both daggers to give that little oomph to crit or whatever you feel like experimenting with.

Ssh.

You’ll upset any rogues lurking about.

I don’t see how it would hurt anything to give feral/guardian druids dual-wielding. It would certainly change our loot table.

Oddly, Bear and feral can equip and use off hand items, but there are no agi off handers in game.

And in addition, because there is nothing we can wield in the offhand, it was taken a step further and we cannot get one handed agi weapons to drop because we will never get an off hand to go with it.

Yup lol

I only know this because a DH traded me a one hander with TD3. I also have an intellect off hand item with TD3, so I technically have td6 I can’t use lol.

Blizzard, Please listen to the Druids. Feral druid are not viable when off hands are non-agility type. Either give the feral druid dual wielding or give off handers weapons or agility type. Many weapons like staff are mostly intellect which forces the druids to go balance as more efficient means to use weapons. i am still using a staff that is only intellect based. What is the point of having maces and daggers when you cant dual wield? Daggers and swords that goes with intellect based off hands are reserved for Priests, Warlocks, and Mages. Make more off hand for Druids to use regardless when they turn to any of the talent build. Many of these weapons cannot change stats automatically. It defeats the purpose of its lore. A staff for feral or bear druid does not make sense. In Legion, the lore was produced for those classes, BFA lost its touch. We need shadowlands a bit better of usage of weapons and gears to include the professions.

…What? This is quite possible the dumbest thing I’ve read on the forums. There are countless dungeons and raid bosses that drop Agility stalves.

He probably has his loot set to balance, and then wonders why his agi staff doesn’t drop. Lmao.

Would be very very nice if druid could dualwield claws and daggers tho. Claws would more fit the design i think.

This is a nearly impossible thought, but it would be cool if we could transmog a two hander to look like a pair of items. I imagine a lot of the tech is there considering the initial way we could use artifact transmog at first.

I agree that it’d be neat to properly dual wield, but it would require some unique scaling. Other Dual Wielding classes make up for the the lower damage of 1H weapons by getting extra, off-hand attacks. That doesn’t really make sense for bear/cat. The old (and returning) Fury Warrior talent, Single Minded Fury, accomplishes something similar though, so it’s not impossible.
