Just out of curiousity, are bleeds for feral solid again yet? Like on a scale from BFA to Cata if anyone remembers how feral bleeds were during those times, with Cata/MoP being the strongest and bfa the weakest, how strong are they at the moment in PvP assuming Necrolord is selected with Draught legendary?
Edit 21 days later: Progged feral up to see for myself. It’s on a scale of Cata/MoP. I’m happy.
For the record, Bleeds were weakest in WoD.
Regardless, in AOE environments, bleeds are your top damage even with a bite build. In ST, it’s Bite and it’s not particularly close unless you’re running a Necro Kitty, and even then it’s more a combination of dots managing to supplant bite.
In PVP as Necro they are pretty good, but again, you’re running like 5 dots on someone.
in PVP necrolord bleed spec is awesome and fun. been playing almost nothing but feral for a few weeks now and its great. you get a tiger’s fury + adaptiive swarm feral frenzy on someone and they will melt.
its not quite at bleed them up and kite away and watch them slowly die, but its close.

How is it in PvE? I was thinking of switching over to Necro for raid but haven’t decided yet
sorry i have no clue in PVE. what ive heard through the grapevine is that feral is fairly strong at single target in raid, but not great w/ the multi target fights. that feral will have very high boss damage but not much on aoe/cleave fights.
but there are 1000 other people who can tell you better more accurate info on pve.
Competitive on ST and nowhere else as far as I can tell.
Unfortunately there’s only 2 true ST fights and one is Tarragrue. Although there are some ST heavy fights where it shouldn’t be all bad.
Depends on the leggo you go with, I’ve found circle of life and death’s leggo gameplay to be the most fun feral gameplay I’ve had in about a decade. Bloodtalon+tiger’s fury snapshotted rips are engaging to keep up and you do have to decide when to bite and if you can extend the right snapshotted rips long enough(sabertooth). The covenant is honestly where they lose me…night fae shores up a big cd issue for us and is for sure the roleplay cov, but necrolord is probably the way to go, that said if I could have no covenant and do the same damage I would.

Nightfae feral in M+ and Raid is pretty good with the covenant leggo. Not sure about Necro.
But you’re doing mediocre AoE (I average around 16k) and about 8k ST but I main bear so I’m not great at feral.
yeah, I can’t wait for 9.1.5.
I have 2 “active” druids right now. Granted I have about 8 that are hibernating still. But I’m torn on those 2 druids. The one that is NF I have more history with and I love it for resto, but for tanking and feral, I prefer necrolord bleed based playstyle with tons of dots.
I mean, there isn’t a single non-NF publicly logged kill past Soulrender/Remnant (outside of a buyer in the KR/CN regions - not sure which). And even on those bosses the handful of Necrolord logs are spectacularly short of the NF ones.
So I don’t think that’s a terribly accurate thing to say, although it depends on your definition of “competitive” is.
As a Feral in raid content, your job is to stick to the boss 99% of the time. My guild during our mythic prog basically say, Mort, just do Mort things and ignore adds. I got benched for painsmith as adds there are pretty damn important and being feral well…we dont do great aoe burst. But im in for the rest of the fights just becaue of my solid ST damage. Ill pump the boss while the rest take care of adds, if there are any.
Give it a go, its really fun. You get memed on but seeing a feral in the top 3 shuts them up

Honestly that says more about your Fire Mage than it does about Feral. We took 2 Ferals to Painsmith and 5 healed it. We still killed adds in 10 seconds.
Well anyway, any idea why they even changed how Rip works? Instead of more damage per combo point, it just works like a Rogue’s Rupture now? I know its been like this for a while, BFA I think, but like… why?
To not punish you for using a lower CP rip on a target that won’t live long enough.
Also, I’m pretty sure it’s been like that for a LOT longer than BFA.
Definitely isn’t a thing in Legion, Rip works the way it always used to there still. Trust me. There’s a reason why I’m using present terms because I can’t exactly say how I know lol, I think it’s against da rulez, but Rip definitely became a Rupture in BFA at 8.1
Well, so far it seems to be that way, and I’m effing loving it!!

its … close… i dont remember when? maybe sometime in WoD but i could put full row of bleeds on a target, and just /dance in bear form.
… maybe the damage is similar to that, but the self heals have increased? that might be more accurate.
but yes. so much fun.
