Feral attack power weapons

Would feral Dps Druids of been more viable in pve if feral attack power weapons were available earlier and easier then AQ and a world boss?

yes absolutely.

they can meet whatever dps requirements before then too if you don’t want to just mentally restrict yourself from playing one =)

Yes one of the big issues with feral druids was that their attacks didn’t scale with weapon dps.

So whatever level a druid got their max rank attack at it did okay for that level but then never got better. Cool I have a good attack at level 50 or whatever but then I’m trying to compete with people whose abilities actually scale and have epic gear, yeah druid DPS was completely screwed.

definitely, but still would be a lesser rogue in terms of raw damage simply because AP scaled lower with druids than rogues.

One of the few changes I wouldn’t mind. Adding feral attack power to some weapons.

Not really worth playing one until AQ.

The system they ended up with in wrath works fine. Weapon DPS directly translated to FAP(worst acronym ever)

Any of the changes would be good. Just shows how classes are incomplete in Classic. Except Warriors, rogues, mages.

Classes are very complete in Vanilla. What you’re doing is applying BfA class design (which is all about specs) to Vanilla, which was about the class as a whole.

One is balanced as an rpg, the other is balanced as a raid simulator. I’m looking forward to playing a real rpg again.

So as long as hybrids are healing class design is perfect!!

it is so that feral druid dps doesn’t scale with weapon dps
to compensate for that, they, aside from 1 AP per agility, gained a flat amount of AP in cat form, as well as the predatory strikes talent, which gave them AP based on their character level, which simulated having weapon dps(to a small extent) until they hit level 60 and started getting gear
some time after MC is when feral attack power from your wepaon comes in; the first instance of it comes from a 1h mace dropped by the nightmare dragons

they could probably benefit by having a 1h feral dps weapon drop from azuregos or kazzak(so ilvl=66 or so) that grants less feral attack power than hammer of bestial fury; lower ilvl ones aren’t exactly called for

#nochanges. As soon as you cave to one groups wants you have to cave to others and you are right back in BfA.

This is very true actually. Hybrids are a misnomer. They are healers with utility and some leveling off specs, but they should primarily remain healers.

Here’s the thing…maybe if they got an astronomical number like 1000 ap at 60 dungeon blues. Let’s put it this way: Dual wielding, ignite, and warlock shadow damage factor just scale astronomically well. In dungeon blues everyone is just fine and dandy. But when you have the melting pot of buff heaven that raids are they just sky rocket.

To put it into perspective, Manual crowd Pummeler, a blue consumable mace drop from gnomer, at naxx level gear can give about 1500-2100 equivalent ap to just auto attacks alone and druids still fall behind by about 100 dps all the while using a technique called powershifting that takes advantage of a helmet and a tier 0 resto talent. To be completely by the numbers, they can contribute just as much single target dps as a rogue because of their crit aura. However if you take into account the lack of gear through BWL and MC you will fall behind for a while.

But trust me when I say, you will have to put in twice the amount of work and thrice the amount of effort to get to the optimal point compared to your garden variety rogue.
