In legion, the artifact weapon for guardian druids was as set of fist weapons. It fits the fantasy very well. I’m guessing the reason we haves staves and pole arms instead is just to balance out who rolls need on what.
meanwhile; evokers can use almost any weapon O.o
And for ferals, it was a pair of daggers.

Becomes a pain to gear when you need to find two weapons vs the two handers we have. So no leave it alone.
Presumably, it’d be an option to dual wield 1 handers, like it is for WW/BrM monks.
…so if you just want EZ-mode gearing, you can still just get a 2 hander and be done with it, while the min-maxers can grind out two one handers and eke out that extra .5% effectiveness from having two weapon enchants to work with.
More work for why?
If you want this just ask for transmogs to allow staffs to have options to look like daggers/fist weapons outside of the legion legion ones. Thus you get your duel wield look, but still only need the staff to gear.
