Female Players Experience in game

I think avoiding voice chat really places a huge limit on activities as a gamer, and I still think it’s important to shed light on the issue.

The pugs in question were often (but not always) RBGs, where voice communication is extremely important.

While little can be done about Discord behavior, admittedly, this has also pushed a lot of my female friends out of other games, and that bothers me. Rainbow Six Siege and a number of VR games, for example. It’s disappointing to have less people to play with because they’re subject to such horribly toxic behavior.

I haven’t seen any notable amount of creepy behavior toward women in video games since my Halo 2-3 days on Xbox Live. Obviously that doesn’t account for what goes on in private, but it’s at least a step up from 2006.

You don’t have to avoid voice. You avoid the behavior. If you are in a rbg, say something related to game in chat, and someone acts like a flipping idiot—are you really staying in that rbg? Sorry, no sympathy if you allow yourself to be treated like a doormat.

On that note, I see waaaaay less of it on PC than I do on console.

The only exception to this is VR, which is part of why Facebook has started taking such a hard-line approach to it and practically bricking headsets.

Guess I shouldn’t post that. NVM LOL

I already do that. There’s nothing i can do about the people who do this kind of thing out of sight from me tho.

And we can help by leaving these spaces. If there are no people sitting idly by and just suffering it quietly then these spaces will shrink to irrelevance.

By coming here and complaining instead of confronting them at the time or simply leaving immediately the space is allowed to exist as it was.

I mean… yeah. I agree. Guys can be creeps.
Don’t be afraid to bail on a run or ditch discord when it’s happening.
That run and ksm achievement isn’t worth putting up with that.
