this needs to be nerfed really bad asap. i have 15 days left on my subscription, i cancelled. you have 15 days to win me back.
Tell us your troubles and we’ll see how we you can help you. No it shouldn’t be nerfed.
The only thing I feel they really need to fix is the RNG of Fell Blast and fix the placement of the totem to not spawn behind things or down over the cliff where the worm is… Sometimes Feltotem randomly casts at a weird time… like right before he casts Earthquake… I have the engineering belt to interrupt him for random times such as this, but he still catches me off guard sometimes
How far are you getting? Fel blast is not RNG, it’s fixed and you can determine when it appears (to a degree). The only time it’s weird is the very beginning where he casts is three times, but it’s survivable with masochism + bubble.
Otherwise, it will always be on this rotation: once after earthquake, once after first sonic boom. You can manage some seconds and push it a bit farther by timing your psychic screams towards the end of his cast.
If it’s line of sight is legit broken, it won’t affect you. But you must get the warning that you can’t see it.
its the fel blasts. fear the first mindbend the second. i must be pushing him too fast and he casts a 3rd in between the scream and bender cool downs
there are times after quake he casts another fel blast.
The first 2 earthquakes are slightly off the usual pattern, after you get through those he sets into a rhythm where from then on you can avoid all of the gel blasts. Those early extra ones you can use defensives on.
Hope you’ve managed to get it done since then! I don’t believe this one needs a nerf tbh, as it’s one of the more balanced MT challenges. Once you get the rhythm for the fight going, it becomes pretty easy.
Sometimes, the tauren gets a little off-sync. He should fel blast once in the “up” phase and after his earthquake channel in the “down phase”. However, every so often, he’ll cast fel blast before earthquake. Pop a defensive and have a bubble up or a masochism, and you should live. My recommendation though, is to continue following your normal pattern because he will eventually re-sync. It’s all a minute apart, and if you mindbender is still on CD by the time he re-syncs, it’ll be a worse time.
Fear the “up” fel blast. Send out mindbender+fade about 3-4 seconds into his EQ channel. Other big tip is to grab the trinket from the first boss of emerald nightmare. Every difficulty drops iLvl 50, so you have 4 shots at it. It has a 1 minute CD, and it drops a big puddle that does really good damage. You drop it under the eggs/little worms, and it literally negates them from the fight. You have to plug zero damage into them.
Are the eggs/worms difficult? No… but it allows you to focus so much more on everything else. Like lining up big worm run into 3 boulders each “down” phase. The fight kind of became a snooze fest with the trinket because I had to hard stop DPS’ing tauren because I had damaged him so much in the down phase.
Anyway, hopes this helps you or others. Best of luck!
Hi, I hope you have gotten the challenge done since your post, but if not, here are some tips. I definitely don’t think this challenge needs a nerf - it becomes very easy once you get the rhythm going.
The only tough part of the fight is when the Tauren gets a little de-synced on his fel blasts like you mentioned. He should cast it once in the “up” phase and once in the “down” phase after he finishes earthquake channel. Unfortunately, sometimes he casts fel blast before earthquake. The only thing you can do there is pop a defensive or two and live through it. If he de-syncs, you should still follow your normal rotation because eventually, he’ll go back to normal. Since Mindbender is a 1 minute CD, if you delay it too long, it won’t be up for his Fel Blast after EQ. I would normally mindbender+fade about 3-4 seconds into EQ channel.
If you want to make the fight a snooze fest, grab the trinket from the first boss of Emerald Nightmare. All difficulties drop iLvl 50, so you have 4 shots at it (don’t forget LFR). This trinket has a 1 minute CD, and drops a big puddle that will literally kill the eggs/little worms entirely. You will have to put zero damage into them. You will also be taking no damage from them. Not having to kill 4-5 eggs later in the fight is really nice.
Are the eggs difficullt? No… However, by negating them from the fight completely, you can completely focus on everything else. Like having big worm run into 3 rocks each time to get those stacks off ASAP. I had to hard stop Tauren DPS because his HP was so far ahead of the worm. “Down” phase eventually just became a standing around phase waiting for big worm to come back up. But it was nice to just be able to chill out for 30 seconds.
Anyway, if you or anyone else is struggling with the fight, I recommend that trinket. It just calms the fight down a lot. Best of luck! You’ve got this!
Some people are kind of overcomplicating things. My main problem was the fel blasts but I abandoned tailoring for engineering (something I was going to do anyways) and got a frag belt. You should never ever get a fel burst with a psychic scream/frag belt rotation. As soon as I got the frag belt the whole encounter was cake lol
Just finished this challenge after ~25 attempts. In my opinion, the disc challenge is more about being patient and making smart use of your cooldowns than pumping deeps. Fear the fel blast after the intermission, mindbender+fade after the quake. I did occasionally get a blast in between, but rotating rapture/masochism/pw:s/and mb let me soak pretty comfortably. Try to save pain sup/barrier for emergencies, like soaking blasts or screams toward the end of the encounter. No issues on any attempt with the totem spawning out of range or los.
This challenge felt pretty good overall. A bit on the long side, but I always had a tool to handle each mechanic and none of the mechanics felt unfair.
Yes, this fight need a nerf but not on Tugar himself but on Jormog once Tugar die.
I perfectly remember that in Legion, i was able to fight Jormog even if he was at 50% of his health.
Now he just…one-shot?
Sorry but this is not the way it used to be in Legion so a nerf is necessary.
Trust me it doesn’t, take it from someone who’s 28/36 currently for TW mage tower. Disc is easy, especially if you have a ravage seed pod. You want to go bang your head? try doing the holy priest challenge or boomkin. So far those are the worst I have encountered out of everything.
The only thing that’s crappy about this fight as disc is the duration and room for error causes you the time spent. You have to be prepared to deal with the de-sync with personals.
There was a video guide someone posted here of a shadow priest getting him from 60% to 0% but i could never pull it off. Needs specific gear and trinkets to do i think. I think it was always the intent to have both near each other
I don’t think it’s a hard challenge but getting hit for 7.9k though mindblast dr maso and a shield little annoying. When every other one during the fight only hits for 5-6k.
I have started trying to do this once again. I tried with a 45 priest but could not do it. Now with a 60 priest, I started again, but just had four fel bursts in a 25 second span. That last one came so unexpected that I was unprepared and in the middle of other things, so got nuked.
Also, another time, with everything going perfectly, and about 11 minutes in, and with both of them at 17% right as earthquake was ending I did the fade/mindbender trick and it FAILED. I got hit for more than a 10k Fel Burst.
Or both at about 30% and two ticks of the dot at about 1400 a shot and just as sonic scream hits for 4400 and while simultaneously hitting fear to avoid Fel Burst, and while on the move to dodge the things that spike up through the ground and all the while getting chopped at by melee attacks, and boom, dead. There’s no way you can survive such overlap without having at least 8000 health. And even then, you would be lucky.
There have also been a few times when I died to Fel Burst because Turgar was not close enough for Psychic Scream to fear him. One time 13 minutes in with both under 10%. I don’t know what he was doing because he usually stays right on you. I was running to dodge swirlies from bile spitters at the time, he stopped to cast a totem I guess–and at the same time as casting Fel Burst. It was not pretty and made me really mad. Because Psychic Scream works 95% of the time, this case was especially frustrating.
Blah.
This content is very annoying. It’s a high stress marathon where you have to be spot on endlessly over and over with every move and cast and just one little mistake and you are dead and back at square one again. And worse, even if you are skilled and spot on and execute perfectly, you need good RNG or you die. And the repair bills in the meantime?!

Hi,
I hope you’re making good progress! There really is nearly no RNG to this fight. It’s all very scripted. In p1 (worm up) phase, Tugar should do 1 Fel Blast that you fear. Then, during p2 (worm down) he should do one right after finishing earthquake, which you need to mindbender + fade before the earthquake cast ends.
One of my biggest tips for you is to get the Seedling trinket from the first boss of Emerald Nightmare. You have 4 shots to get it (don’t forget LFR), so the chances are actually really solid. This trinket drops a big puddle on the ground, and it will completely kill the eggs/little worms without you have to touch them AT ALL! I know the little worms are not necessarily difficult, but completely negating that mechanic from the fight will make it so much less hectic. If you do grab the trinket, it’s on a 1 minute CD. Do not use it on pull and save it for the eggs. It should be up for every single egg phase. This allows you to focus on getting the big worm to hit all 3 rocks and get those stacks off ASAP! I will pretty much always do my mindbender+fade and while mindbender is tanking the boss, I’ll run over and drop the puddle. Eggs just die. Mechanic deleted.
The only time Tugar seems to unsync from his Fel Blast pattern is the 2nd time the worm goes underground (if memory serves correctly). He will Blast BEFORE Earthquake. My recommendation is just to pop a defensive like Barrier and eat it. Go ahead and cast your mindbender like normal, even though he already used Fel Blast. Since Mindbender is on a 1minute CD, if you use it too late, it won’t be ready during the next phase 2. Tugar will Fel Blast you again while the worm is underground this time… Just pop another defensive like pain supp and eat it. He WILL go back to his normal rotation. This is the only messy one.
It can only fail if you cast it too late, or you cast Mindbender too early, and he despawns before the blast. I usually wait about 3-4 seconds into earthquake before casting Mindbender + Fade. Then run over and drop my trinket puddle on the eggs.
If you took 2 ticks from the Dot, you didn’t dispel it fast enough. One tick happens from time to time, but Cancel whatever you’re casting and dispel that dot. If you took 2 ticks, you had enough time to dispel + fear the fel blast. The sonic scream will always be a couple of seconds after the worm comes back up. Tugar should fel blast basically right after.
Get the trinket from Emerald Nightmare. No more dodging swirlies from little worms.
The only thing that can truly destroy you is letting a fel blast go off late in the fight. This fight is an endurance test of doing the same pattern over and over. Once you get the rhythm down, the fight becomes kind of boring. Especially with the trinket I mentioned. I was able to dps Tugar so much during p2 that I had to hard stop on him because he was so far ahead of worm. Get the EN trinket and focus on worm hitting all 3 rocks. Once worm has 3 stacks or less, focus on him during P1’s.
Best of luck! If you have any questions, a ton of people have been super helpful on the forums. Don’t hesitate to ask.
That’s impossible. You probably had other mechanics overlap. But yeah this fight is extremely scripted. The only RNG is the beginning you might get 2 fel bursts before the first earthquake. GL
Finally got it, only took me two pulls after going to The Emerald Nightmare and grabbing Swarming Plaguehive trinket, also grabbed Tarnished Sentinel Medallion from ToS, wasn’t too bad at all!!! Only ~85 attempts lmao
Perhaps you are right in terms of the time frame, but I had it on video, or did. But which video I dont know or I’d post it. But this is literally what happened:
Turgar casts Fel Burst sometimes right before Earthquake. So he did that. Then he did another right after Earthquake. Then he did another BEFORE Jormug popped up. Then he did another when Jormug was up and before the one that can happen right before earthquake. So it was in a very short time frame. I would qualify this though by saying it was incredibly rare.
I have gotten them both down to about 17% now that I am doing this on a 60. But the overlap of stuff is killing me. Like you can get the dot, plus the totem plus Fel Burst really close together sometimes. And this with bile spittters making your life hell at the same time.
I imagine age is a factor. I think if I were a lot younger I’d have gotten the mount by now. I get all muddled when all of this stuff comes in together sometimes unless it is the morning when I am fairly fresh and rested.
I wish I had better trinkets to be honest. I have tried repeatedly for the Seed Pod one to nuke the adds but it refuses to drop. Half a dozen of the other trinket from that boss though sitting in your bags doing nothing is not fun. Lol.
Is this a good trinket?
