Felt like uninstalling the past two nights

I’m not a title player, nor do I strive to be. At some point, the game becomes no longer fun to heal. . But anyway, I do like to push to around the top 1pct mark during seasons that are acceptable.

The first few days of the season, I wasn’t working. I was playing the game basically non stop, and still falling behind in gear due to just terrible RNG. The past two days work has kicked my butt, and I haven’t had a much time to play. I also don’t like pushing score when I’m falling behind in gear. The runs are sloppy, etc. So I’ve been trying to focus gear, and it’s just not dropping. So now I’m falling way behind others in both categories.

Like I said, I’m not a title player, but I am definitely kinda competitive, even if it’s just with myself. I just hate that we have what’s supposed to be a competitive game mode, that has so many layers of RNG. I feel like mythic+ should be completely separate, like its on standalone game, with templates or some deterministic way to buy the items you want.

Have you tried that game which is essentially WoW but only for mythic+? I heard about it but forgot its name unfortunately.

Update: Fellowship

If you try it please let me know if it’s fun  I’m interested but did not try it yet.

The season is a week old, lol! Edit: Not even.

You M+ bros are a scourge on this game.

Good ol healers

Look we feel the same way about BDKs

I am definitely following the game, it’s called fellowship. They just had a free play test the week leading up to this season. Unfortunately I was playing path of exile at the time, and there’s just no way I drop that game when there’s a relatively new season. Everyone playing the test was begging for them to extend it, so that’s a good sign.

My biggest fear about that game is that it may or may not be developed by people that just want to make a standalone mythic+ without actually changing any of the glaring issues. For instance, there’s still affixes… Literally, why?

Can you (or anyone who knows this game) tell me more please, including any of:

Are there gear templates (no ilvl) in this game?
Is it multiplayer or solo player? I didn’t understand the “without the MMO” part of the title in the article I linked
Is the balance good?
Are the bosses hard or easy, or long, or short?
How are deaths and revives handled?
Are there talent builds?
Is there loot of any kind or enchants or crafted gear?
Will there be achievements or leaderboards of some sort?
How do secondary stats work in this game, is there something like haste?
Are there good add-ons for healing like in WoW?

Also, there are affixes? Are those weekly rotating or do you get to pick?

I don’t know the answers to all of those, but if you go to their discord, I would imagine you’ll find many or all of those. Apparently the affixes can be avoided by doing different key levels. Some of them sound trivial, while others definitely don’t. One is exactly fortified. Apparently that’s the worst one considerably ATM.

The gear definitely did not appear to be templates at all. I recall seeing boss drops, and there did appear to be secondary stats. Interrupts are important, but there’s not nearly as many spells going off. Healing looked much more manageable than current wow. It seemed as if group DPS was the determinant to timing keys like wow used to be, rather than survival like wow has become.

Thanks! Do you know if it’s multiplayer? I guess if not I’d have 1000 other questions about how the bots are :joy:

The only reason that you’ve fallen behind other M+ players in gear is that M+ is such a ridiculous loot fountain in the first place.

Slap a weekly lockout on each dungeon, like raids have to deal with, and that problem goes away.

Blizzard is too afraid to put M+ rewards on a weekly lockout.

I still don’t get why they are okay with this single system just devouring the entire game.

procedurally-generated content is much faster to develop than manually-designing each enemy.

it’s a very low-quality cost-reduction solution.

Yeah, M+ really destroyed the concept of a seasonal journey with how hard it shortcuts gear acquisition. M+ers want to skip gearing entirely, so maybe it should no longer drop gear at all, and go to a Legion PvP stat template system, where they’re at full power in dungeons from day 1.

Or just scrap it and go back to Challenge Modes, which were competitive but didn’t wreck the rest of the game.

I would personally love that + it seems like it would solve raid gearing balance

Pvp has gear like this, weak in raid but ideal for pvp, why not M+? That could be perfect. Also no more bis trinkets for m+ dropping from raid (+ vice versa)

Something raid logging bad her de dur

I’m not talking the SL->TWW PvP gearing system, with the bonus ilvls and what not (because even if it were capped at champion track like PvP gear is, it would still be overpowered in gearing for raids), I’m talking about hitting 80, and instantly being able to zone into M+ at 678 effective ilvl, no gearing required. All tier sets, trinkets, cantrips, and legendaries are disabled, so there’s no reason to care about those, or whine that the vault didn’t give you the myth version.

Relax my friend, breath. It has just been a week. Remember, the season is a journey and we are in the growing pains moment of switching gears.

I personally don’t think that or judge raiders at all, they have the game they like and that’s great. I like this “iron curtain” idea other people are coming up with

Thanks for clarifying, I’m for it either way
