I have two long standing characters on my account, this shaman and my hunter. Shamans always been my main and hunter has been my main alt, but lately more and more I find myself playing and enjoying my survival hunter more and more.
And I dont know why. Both are roughly even in play time, with my shaman eeking out ahead of the hunter till recently but the hunter just seems to have taken a soft spot in my heart and ran with it.
I play Enhancement and I like how flashy its abilities look. Watching the lightning and fire hit looks more epic than Hunter’s. Survival has better movement as it can do more damage from distance than Enhancement.

I was messing with Surivival and it is honestly fun. That being said, I just leveled my Shaman and Enhance blows it out of the water lol. Survival is just too squishy for what it does.
Ngl. How flashy enh is, is the main reason I no longer play it. I very much preffered wotlk to wod visuals. Now it’s a tad bit of an overkill
Same here my main alt is also SV and I’ve been becoming more conflicted on which I prefer but my hunter has been getting majority of my playtime of late, Enh definitely is more powerful and satisfying feeling at times because of the epic spell effects and just super satisfying when you get a nice string of stormstrike and ascendance procs and ability to heal, res, water walk, water breathing and some party utility with lust and totems so its just really versatile spec and make you feel like a real jack of all trades but SV is just so mobile and aggressive feeling and a ton of fun to just harpoon around and chuck bombs and being able to collect pets is also nice but it’s definitely more simplistic than Enh, maybe I’m just bored after playing Enh for a long time but there’s definitely something about SV that’s really doing it for me right now.

All the tools to Immerse yourself as a monster hunter are there. A great sword, a hunting companion, traps and bombs. Take herbalism, skinning or Alchemy for extra immersion.
