Fell off a cliff in dungeon

So I just started playing again after 11 years.
I got booted because I fell off a cliff at the start of a raid and as I started making my way back I get booted. I waited 15 minutes for a dungeon, only to get booted with a 30 minute cooldown.

Is this normal for players to be so toxic? What happens if I find myself in the same group and they just kick me again?
It's fairly normal for a group to initiate a vote kick if they feel a player is holding back the group as a whole, especially if there's a lack of communication on your part of what happened (i.e., Hey, I fell off this cliff! Running back now).

While the vote kick system can seem unfair at times, and it certainly can be abused at times too, overall it does a good job of keeping legitimately malicious players from ruining everyone else's run.

On the up side, the chances of you being placed in a group with the exact same 4 other players are astronomically low. You might see one of the same people from time to time, but the whole group is exceedingly rare. Just try not to let it get to you and good luck in your travels!
I'm guessing they thought you should be booted before that. It could be a power trip thing for them but that doesn't happen often. I've died before and wanted to just leave and I've been resurrected. So what I would suggest is to move on. Rack it up as a bad group. Some groups go out of their way to get you back up. Some you will make it yourself. Those are most of the time. It's less often they get rid of you then not.
