Felguard Taunt removed and way less threat generation?

After the patch Tuesday I’m noticing that my Felguard no longer has a Taunt ability, and in addition to that I am continuously pulling threat off of it when this was never a problem before the patch. I’m assuming the absence of Taunt is what is causing that. Is this intended? What’s going on here? Anyone else notice this?

I noticed something similar but I think with the new patch it just turned my Taunt off for some reason and I had to manually turn it back on for auto-casting. I’ve been keeping an eye on it since but I haven’t noticed anything critical.

If the spell is actually missing from your spellbook that’d be something else entirely. As a pet the Felguard has his own tab.

Did you check to make sure threatening presence was on?

Yes it is on. But also, strangely, I’m unable to toggle it off.

Not sure what it be then.

I know going Immutable hatred will let your feguard hold a ton of aggro in ST tho. But like, if there’s a threat issue with him it should still be fixed.

I’d say play around with him and if it keeps being a problem report it definitely.

Felguard don’t have a Taunt since wrath, it only have threatening presence.

https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Felguard_(warlock_minion) this page haven’t been updated in forever and its only mention of the felguard taunt is in the patch changes when it was removed on Cata.

Now, aggro is an value based around damage/healing and applied a multipler if existent (threatening presence is a 250% multiplier for threat for exemple, its something that builds up, meaning if your felguard starts with something big (Demonic Strength) for exemple he will build a decent headstart on aggro but you can still rip his aggro with things like Health Funnel (Because it heals a lot) or with very high/quick bursts of damage.

Of course, Players and pets with Taunt can also steal aggro from your felguard as well.

The Felguard’s threat builds up so, should your Felguard die, re-summoning him means his threat level will be zero again.

Yep, this is why Voidwalker still actually does have a purpose. In some rare cases you might be fighting an elite that has a metric tonne of health and does a lot of damage. Now, you can’t realistically just sit there casting Health Funnel to heal your pet over and over, so sometimes it’s wiser to just start resummoning as your pet is about to die.

Since Felguard has no taunt, after the first resummon or two it might start taking too long getting threat up again. So that’s when you summon the Voidwalker. It does less damage but it has a snap taunt, meaning unless the elite is immune to taunts, you can endlessly resummom Voidwalkers to keep it off of you.

Exactly. Felguards have never had as good threat generation as void walkers.
