I want to make sure that I finish this quest correctly because invasions are the worst thing to ever come to WoW.
When the next invasion starts, do I just go to it and will it teleport me onto the ship where I kill the boss? or do I need to complete some of the invasion quests first? I am honestly not sure how this works and these youtube videos don’t explain sh*t.
You have to complete like 3 or so of the invasion objectives (at the same invasion point) first then it’ll give you a quest pop-up to fly up to the ship. The boss is up there.

It’s 4 of the 5 or 6 WQs, then you start the invasion proper. There are 2 phase and then the boss IIRC, but none of them are all that hard. Each zone is a little different but that’s the general outline. The worst part is just waiting for the boss fight scenario queue to fill.
