Needs to have its CD reduced to 30 sec or less.

…why? It’s an insanely powerful AoE burst ability as is, and we already have another baseline super-strong AoE burst ability on a 30s CD. And Fel Devastation is already competitive enough to be taken over Trail in certain situations. So why on earth does it need to be buffed by double or more?
Fel Devastation is the lowest DPS gain and lowest survival of the talents in the row.

I tried Sprit Bomb, absolutely hate the way it plays. I’d rather take Fel Devestation.
As it stands now, it needs a serious CD reduction to be even remotely useful.
…I may or may not have read that as Fel Barrage. I blame is being 2 AM at the time of my post.
Fel Devastation, I’m not sure it necessarily needs a shorter CD. I wouldn’t complain, but I also don’t think that would fix it. What I think would fix it is dump Gluttony out the window and sorta add it to Fel Devastation by making Fel Dev work like Eye Beam + Demonic. When used, it places you in meta for the duration of the effect plus say 5-8 seconds afterwords (whatever makes sense for the sake of balance). Even with Meta having been weakened considerably in BfA, that allows Fel Devastation to be both a burst healing and survivability cooldown. In the place of Gluttony, put in Painbringer (reduced as necessary for balance) from our old artifact weapon:
In Legion, this effect stacked up to 5 times, was 5% reduced per stack and lasted 4 seconds, with each stack having its own independent duration. It’s a much better passive mitigation talent than Gluttony, since it is consistent and can be relied upon. The fantasy of shifting into Meta form more often than the cooldown version permits is still retained via Fel Devastation under this model, and both of these talents become actually viably competitive with Spirit Bomb.
Long term, though, I, like many DHs, would prefer to see Spirit Bomb become baseline, because it just feels so much better to use than Soul Cleave.
Fel Devestation is terrible. Pick spirit bomb 100% for PvE and PvP it is the better pick.
OP is 8/8N and never done an M+ And 372 ilvl.
Come on, don’t mislead people. Fel Devestation is “fun” but not even remotely viable.
It’s like people who pick gluttony. Just… why?
It’s not a hard concept to grasp. I don’t mind spirit bomb but it should certainly be an option for as long as it remains a talent, rather than a defacto mandatory pick.
As it stands right now, the class has 6 talent tiers instead of 7.
Knowing blizzard, they’ll nerf Spirit Bomb and keep FD the same…
lmao. I didn’t mislead anyone. Read the thread before posting. If you had you’d realise you’re actually agreeing with me. Btw, wtf does my ilvl and raid progress got to do with anything? Can I dismiss all your opinions because youre not a Method 8/8 mythic raider? I guess so.
@ Kineological I grasp it fine. I know how spirit bomb plays. My issue as stated isn’t that its difficult to understand. It’s simple as. Its that I don’t like its gameplay. I prefer Fel Devestation. Each onto their own. Unfortunately Blizz has made talents that are objectively worse than others and that simply shouldn’t be
.
Spirit bomb would be in a better place, I think, if they swapped it into Charred Flesh’s place in the talent tree and removed Frailty from it. That way it would be explicitly an AoE damage talent rather, competing with Flash Crash (and ideally something more AoE-centric than Felblade), rather than competing against two survivability talents.
That said, that’s going to be a bandaid on a bullet wound if they don’t address the fact that souls and pain compete as resources right now, and that Soul Cleave is a steaming pile of fetid dingo kidneys. They need to make Shear generate pain and no souls, Fracture baseline, no CD, and costs pain to generate souls, and then Soul Cleave costing no pain and consuming all souls. Pain becomes a resource to fuel our soul generation, rather than something we generate and consume alongside souls, except that souls always end up being more important than pain.
