Feels like i'm playing a walking simulator rather than a game

On the character that i actually play i am approaching level 34 and i swear it seems the more quest i get now the more time i spend walking to a new area if i don’t have a flight path, getting to a boat to go a different continent just to go walk some more instead of actually doing the quest. Then there also seems to be more quest where im one area and the next quest sends me to another area to talk to an npc and then once i go to that npc i gotta walk to another area

Fun right? Thats the beauty and immersion of classic. Look at the world around you when you are walking.

No doubt.

When i walk past you, ill know you added to the immersion of a “world” of warcraft

Yes, just like when GTA became more “open world”(i think gta 3?). I could finally walk around doing stuff i can’t do in real life.

i made a new retail character just to see what it was a about. Honestly feels somewhat the same minus the quicker leveling, gear collecting, and mini map things. not really big into it either but eh

ANd just think OP, if you’ve been a good little orc, in 6 more levels it will be a horseback riding simulator(or very strange cowboy simulator)

Yes it’s the same mr faerlina guy. It’s like classic+.
You will love it

Really? Classic actually requires you to use some brain cells though. If anything is a walking simulator, it’s Retail. You literally fly everywhere, there is no journey or sense of adventure.

Retail there is a specific “mount” you can use at lvl 1

That was intentional. It’s supposed to feel like a world, instead of an amusement park where you walk to the conveniently placed next task/attraction. That might not be your cup of tea.

There can be a lot of walking but you can also usually focus on the quests that keep you in the same zone/area if you want.

They do call them quests after all. Shouldn’t be too surprised if there’s a bit of a quest involved.

Cant fly in retail until you do all the walking first.

Makes you crave that level 40 mount more eh?

Nah i’m way too broke for a mount and 40 is kind of my end point stopping goal . Currently have only 16 gold

Don’t know what “walking” you’re referring too? You sit in que and wait for a group…

I find the oppsite to be true. I play classic with a friends to relax from the stressful battle that is retail. It nice to just play something simple and relaxing.

Kill everything on your way there, so you’re doing more than just running. Classic is a mob grinder, the quests are there to help speed things up

I’ve spent several levels are specific grind spots because the exp was the same as just doing quests :man_shrugging:.

Play the game how you want but there are always alterantives if you’re getting bored running.
