Feels bad to play Horde

They killed off/ruined all the good horde characters

you mean to tell me the uncivilized savage warmongers don’t have a place in the modern peaceful world? who wuda thunk

the useful parts of the horde identity haven’t been used in 15 years, it’s always been an alliance story, especially during MOP, the horde were always a plot device

now that we moved away from them being the antagonist/cause of antagonist in some way they really got nothing left as a whole

you only got the invidividual races left for interesting possibilities of stories but “horde” as a whole probably died with BFA

Prove it.

By whom? not by you since you don’t know what you are talking about, you just tried to play pigeon chess here

WoD was a great example of what a disaster playable ogres would be. Even as a Tauren, you can’t fit inside the Orc buildings in Nagrand, you can’t click on some objects in the Ogre fortress in Frostfire
and that’s just as a Tauren.

Ogres would be so, so much worse.

Then play Alliance if the Horde makes you feel bad. Isn’t that exactly what the Alliance has been mocked for nearly two decades? You want to play the most popular race in the entire game? Play Horde. You prefer an extremely popular new fox race over a questionable Gnome customization, the least popular race in WoW? The Horde is waiting for you. Etc. etc.

Besides, it always feels like WoW revolves around the Horde, while the Alliance only gets to react to the Horde razing a city and zone to the ground (and by now, there are quite a few destroyed Alliance areas). And as a consequence for these actions, the Horde gets invited to tea parties and gains access to multiple locations
because that’s what you do with murderers. Invite them into your home when they say they won’t do it again.

Guys, this is WoW. It’s not particularly deep. Both factions are absolutely ridiculous. In 2024, still feeling something like faction pride in WoW is highly questionable to me. One faction is completely incompetent and constantly falls despite having demigods, while the other faction follows one insane leader after another like mindless sheep.

Two decades? Are you saying that Alliance always had it worse since Vanilla? hyperbolic much?

Blame it on developers for writing it that way.

the main point of this thread is to give Horde it’s own storylines like it used to in the past. To get their own hubs, their own champions, and their own motivations and initiatives.
And it used to be a standard, even if their quests were mostly mirrored, Horde had it’s own path through zone, and Alliance it’s own. And that is the bare minimum that should’ve been delivered.

Especially when all this “WoW revolving around Horde” led to the Horde being so damaged that their roster is almost empty when it comes to significant NPCs.

nope. alliance was pretty much in a good place because the deVs hadnt fully fleshed out horde quests by the release date, whereas alliance was well done and complete with a few exceptions. horde got all last boss kills in raids, alliance got most of the other boss kills in raids. horde excelled at pvp.

but the morale on alliance started to dwindle in tbc when horde got belf paladins and alliance pallies swapped sides in large numbers, cause not only were pallies on horde but they were better pallies, which meant horde pvp and pve dominance. and it stayed that way.

well the deVs painted themselves into a corner. most of them played and were horde mains, so they knew what needed to be done to keep horde healthy, but since its a 2 faction game, alliance started quitting or joining horde, to the point mercenary mode had to be made for bgs or horde couldnt get bgs to pop.

as alliance disappeared horde fans were losing interest since the predator without the prey, is boring. so horde started to quit, cause who wanted to play the faction that devs didnt play. their solution was to try to drum up faction pride but that didnt work cause they gave horde a month head start. similar things in legion, where horde were already on their allied races, alliance had to do all the horde did plus argus, before they could get on their allied races. it was just bad decisions on top of bad decisions.

Why? if ogres are canonically smaller than tauren and zandalari in average?

I fail to see how mismanagement when it comes to pvp has anything to do with stories?
You said things went downhill since TBC becuase Horde got belves - but Alliance still got draenei, and had their own share of quests no? The difference in here is that you didn’t like the decisions that were made (and tbh TBC was a big mess storywise, Belves were meant to leave EK permanently and be in Outland).

But the entire point of this thread is that the Horde barely is involved in the expansion storyline. And I wouldn’t mind getting less amount of focus, but to get close to nothing at all? I fail to see why Horde has to follow Alleria or Anduin, or some other prominent Alliance Hero. Doesn’t Horde have their own? Shouldn’t Horde questing focus on building up new faces after their roster got so heavily decimated?

THAT is the point.

You misspelled “literally what happened”

not to mention nobody buys shrink potions anyway, so why not just haVe a shrink button for big races. simple solution. they prolly didnt want short tauren to be the norm cause its ambiance like mud puddle swimming for short races. but if its gonna dictate playable races then it needs to be modifiable

i know the point is the sorry state of horde story. im explaining how it got that way. once the Devs started losing horde players, because there were not enough alliance left, in a 2 faction war game, they panicked

I don’t even think its necessary.

I player a lot as tauren and never, ever, had a problem with doorways, i think people who point that out didn’t even played as tauren

As has already been established, I cannot dispel your personal delusion.

Indeed, that would require a minimum knowledge of lore that you established you don’t have

But they said that the point was refuted without actually doing anything to refute it. That must mean they are right.

I hate orgrimmar and Undercity.

I wanna visit Stormwind and Darnassus qq. I wanna set my hearth to stormwind and use their portals but Blizzard wont let me.

Blizzard wont let us choose our faction :frowning:

Why cant i play an orc and be apart of the alliance?

The wars over and peace has come to both factions.

Lol no. The whole reason I want the Horde to go back to having our own quests is that I do not want to be playing Alliance side.

It does not. Which was already discussed in this thread.

It’s done to make the Alliance the heroes, villain bat the Horde and allow the Alliance to win all of the wars.

It’s funny after the Nelf saga that anyone claims the game is Horde focused.

We didn’t want this nor the BFA story that put us here.

Not if they are handled well. Blizz jumped the shark with story and then stuck with it. Then tried to clean it up with friendship is magic garbage. None of which btw gives us our own quests. We are just doing chores for the Alliance.

How did you get pride from this thread? It’s disappointment.

The fault of the writers which they could improve btw.
