I mean there have been monk martial artists outside the pandas for a while. Scarlet Monastery had the monks that could punch with fire.

you tried to make it sound like Diablo monks were excessively violent compared to WoW ones⌠what I was trying to say is thematically WoW monks come across as soft and goofy, lacking the ferocity and oomph when fighting. Also, thereâs no indication Diablo monks are bloodthirsty without philosophical ideals, stop making stuff up. In fact in their opening cutscene they mention they use their fists to protect Sanctuary followed the teachings of their thousands of gods. If this isnât closer to the real life Shaolin monks, I donât know what is.

you are delusional if you think monks have the best animation and visuals compared to other classes. This is especially untrue after most classes got a facelift in Legion. I think monks deserve more love than you think Blizz gives them. Again, most of us are trying find ways to let the class have some more appeal, whether itâs improving mechanics, visuals or bringing back lost abilities, streamline it, etc.
The new animations for those classes look like a pre schooler designed them.
I can say the same for key abilities like Fists of Fury, current keg smash, spinning crane kick, on and on. Heck, leg sweep doesnât even do a proper sweep. Itâs a single spin of SCK. Pathetic.
Fists of fury is so bad. You look like ROB the robot standing stiff and throwing stiff, weak punches in front of you.
I wish it felt more like a real punch combo, like upper cuts and stuff.
Youâre welcome to your opinion, but most monk animations look like trash. RSK, keg smash, fists of fury, fire breath, spinning crane kick: Iconic class defining abilities that look terrible. Iâd argue mistweaver is the only spec with a few decent animations.
Lots of people shelved their monks, myself included, because
- Class fantasy is out of place and totally irrelevant outside Pandaria and
- Animations suck. Not using weapons sucks. Brewmaster has a 3 button rotation and none of those buttons feel impactful. WW feels clunky and awkward compared to something like a fury warrior or frost DK. MW feels good to play but theyâre too underpowered in PvE content.
Also, every race other than Pandarens looks and feels extremely out of place as a monk. Most of the old tier sets are comical. Look at archetypes:
Rogue: sneaky lightly armored class that stabs people
Mage: caster using different elements to blow up foes
Monk: uses the power ofâŚsomething toâŚpunch foes? Drinks stuff to take less damage? HealsâŚsomehow? Also can fly on a cloud and roll
See where Iâm going? Their design is all over the place. Easy to see why theyâre the least played class in the game.
I mean D&D monk is one of the class choices.
