I wouldn’t say I’m discouraged, just a little overwhelmed by it. I barely have time to keep my basic dailies up and I keep losing track of where I am and what I have to do in the synthesis or what bosses I need for the schematics. However, I do plan to synthesize, eventually.

I really loved the idea behind this system, I did. I love being able to craft my own mounts and stuff like this, but goodness this system needed some back luck protection. Even something like being able to buy the items you needed with Genesis Motes would have helped a lot. Still would have been grindy, but you would have had a goal to work towards if you were unlucky rather than having to constantly pray to the RNG gods.

The problem is it has a RNG protection system, it was just VERY badly implemented, 700 cyphers for a 0.5% chance at a 100% raid drop item? WHY??
Why even put items needed for a zone system in a raid? On top of making everything but two items in the zone itself a slog to get (the crowns, ingot, key, wind, etc).
3 something layers of RNG just to punish folks for not jumping straight into raiding.

Actually don’t those rares drop from a raid, BUT they also put a chance to get them in the Olea Cache. The Olea Cache isn’t the sole source.
Thanks for reminding me, that stuff is clogging up my bank inventory and I keep meaning to check that system out.
I agree with you, Krutz. I’ve been doing everything to get the snail mount and I can’t get the alloy. I don’t feel like this is fun. I feel like I’m getting screwed by RNG and all I have for my troubles is burnout.

My wife and I get one Olea cache every day or two. We ask each other (when opening), “What did you get?”
The answer is almost always, “Screwed.”
Just wait till you try to get the vespoid lattice. I’m on 5k kills and I haven’t seen a single one.
Don’t hate but I actually have a buttload of those. (Lattices only refuse to drop when I’m trying to farm them).
I’ve literally been farming for like a week and I’ve got to the point where I’ve killed eons worth of wasp babies.
They really wanted to torture collector’s with ZM.
I’ve killed tons of those Hulks solo and still no plans.
The motes are absurd though. I refuse to join a farm group and dedicate hours of time to get enough to craft some of the things.
All I wanted was a snail mount that’s it…I got everything except that ingot thingy…read and read and researched everywhere just to find out it’s 1% drop…I gave up not only in that but the game as
a game as a whole…I have not logged in at all…I have no more desire to play this expansion.Im done…I’m looking forward the wotlk classic and dragonflight…but shadowlands zerith mortis is absolutely done for me…thanks for nothing blizzard…

Another thing with the protoform mounts - why aren’t the mount recipes account wide when you go to the place to make them? Annoying finding a schematic on one toon and then having to go thru all that again because your main has the bulk of them.
If an alt got a recipe my main doesn’t have, I’d craft the mount on that character, for sure
Personally I’d rather be able to go to the vendor and when I open the console it’ll show all the mounts that I’ve collected from all toons. Just keeps things tidy and in one place. And because the mats can be mailed across toons (which I still can’t believe Blizz let us do 
) it just makes things easier.
Maybe it’s just me 
devs make a system where mats are ground out over time, negating the advantage of an alt army

I have 3 I’m playing. My main has the bulk of the mount and pet schematics. Since they made where you can share all mats now, even glimmers, I’ve only 2 more mounts to go.
I like schematic hunting. ,
