I don’t know I just feel like I’m bored and tired of doing mythic+.
I find it strange considering in the past I actually really loved doing mythic+. But now I hate it!
Why do I hate it?
Well, in order to get to the ilvl where you start doing mythic+ you first have to run heroic dungeons which are pretty much braindead dungeons like 50 times just so you can get to 476 ish ilvl.
Once you’re around that then you do a Mythic 0 world tour in order to properly learn the mechanics and get new gear. And to be fair Mythic 0s are fun in their own right. And the best part is they do reward you.
But Mythic+ just puts you through even more punishment but feels incredibly unrewarding! I just don’t get it, you think I care that my raider io score is just a little higher? NO. I WANT LOOT. Instead only one person gets loot and you have to like time it hard in order to get more rewards, that’s just awful!
Why the hell is Mythic + SO UNREWARDING? This whole game has felt entirely unrewarding, and I just don’t like it. You should get paid for your work, not given some sand to play with.
I mean I don’t know I think I might run heroic Aberrus with my guildies this weekend. But in all honesty I just don’t feel like playing something that just doesn’t reward your efforts.
Edit: I should iterate, that I actually like the challenge that raids/mythic+ brings, it’s just the way that you get rewarded that sucks to me.
Breaks are always good. Or try Remix. Or find another game that might be fun for a while. Can always try again in a couple months when the next expansion launches.
Season 4 was pretty much over for me after two weeks. If not for Remix, I would have taken a break. But even then, I’m playing Palia and SWTOR, too.
WoW offers a gigantic amount of other content besides M+. But if you are only interested in pushing M+ and feel bored and tired of it, you should take a break, maybe until TWW.
And I don’t think M+ is unrewarding in terms of loot, you can gear up fairly quickly by just doing M+ if you commit to it. At least that’s how I feel about it, I can completely understand if it feels unrewarding to you.
Basic dungeon rewards at max level are pretty accessible and they last you a long time right when you get them. In fact, if you don’t raid, they’re probably your forever gear.
Rewards actually are designed to prepare you for materially different content. If you’re going to raid, you do dungeons so you can be ready for MC, then you farm that so you’re ready for BWL, and so on.
Content is fairly laid back difficulty wise so people don’t have nearly so much pressure to be picky about gear. You can actually expect to DO fun stuff in your basic dungeon gear. (Modern ish style mechanics imo really didn’t start to show up at all till BWL and didn’t really take off in earnest till Naxxramas, and Naxx is literally the top of the top endgame, the ultimate challenge for Era anyways)
Now let’s go back to Retail.
Basic dungeon rewards at max level are still pretty accessible but they’re also WAY less of a reward each time (you need to grind out track upgrades, like Asian MMO enhancement systems basically)
Rewards don’t really get you into anything new, they just let you run … the same stuff at a slightly higher ratchet so you can repeat the cycle. We don’t even have the idea of gearing up from older instances to get ready for newer ones anymore (all the way back in TBC was pretty much the last hurrah for that).
Content is much more demanding so people are pressured to be much more picky about gear. You’re practically considered the E word just for expecting that the gear drops you got will even get you invited to the same dang thing you got them from, to say nothing of the next step up the ladder …
I feel a song coming on.
I can see clearly now the fun is gone.
I can see obnoxious obstacles in my way …
No wonder Era is about the only WoW I really feel interested in playing right now, fo sho, though.
Take a break and play other games. I suggest the soulsborne games, cyberpunk, the witcher saga (maybe just 3 since the other older ones will feel clunky), Diablo IV, Deus Ex, Dead by Daylight, Fall guys, fallout saga (2 is my fav but I’ll recommend 4), remnant, red dead redemption was pretty solid, alien isolation if you are into scary games or calisto protocol also dead space and a ton more but that’s what was on top of my head.
Breaks are indeed good. I am usually drifting between 3+ games though at the moment it has been Ghost of Tsushima and after going through to 100% the story mode, finding out how the multiplayer mode actually works before starting up a NG+ run.
Also, the remix buffs today are massive. Now it takes less than 7 days to be max ilvl and the WB/daily threads are huge now, 1k stam from one boss? Okay.
Man the best you’ve done is a 5… Maybe run something higher before you’re bored of mplus?
Rewards isn’t everything.
My friends and myself aren’t the best. We normally stop when the vAult rewards end. So around 8-10. But we have been pushing further to 12s and 13s. Just for fun.
You have barely touched heroic and you’re already bored of raiding?
You also got bullions and crafted gear dungeon gear might as well be hold over slots till you craft get bullion spots and vault pieces. There olare only a couple of pieces you will actually want off dungeons if anything. You just run dungeons to get crests this season. Raids help expedite this since you can get around 100 off em per difficulty.
You’re not even 500 Ilvl. It sounds to me you most likely hit a wall, gave up and you’re looking for cope.
Well, you only get one good piece per week so maybe it feels unrewarding because it actually is unrewarding. Do 1 vault 10 key a week then stop, the most efficient way to gear from m+ is literally not playing it.
Nothing wrong with playing another game as a vacation and then see if you want to come back. A lot of folks took 6 months to year off in shadowlands to play FFXIV and then either stayed there or came back refreshed.
