There’s…nothing fomo about the grind in question.
You’re telling me I’ll get the reward if I don’t engage with the bad systems design?
That there’s nothing to be mad about and I won’t feel left out from being pushed out of the game?
FOMO would imply that the grind is only available for a limited time. There is nothing limited about it. Learn your terminology before using it.
Ah got it!
So you’re being pedantic with descriptions and shifting the argument away from the rep grind being trashy systems design by derailing it with such pedantry.
Nope. Just stating facts. Whether the grind is trashy or not is the discussion being had, and I fall into the category of “this grind sucks”. You are the one who brought FOMO into it for no reason. lol
To satiate your nitpicking, I updated the wording earlier to reflect it better. I still think poorly of such and it still has a label to describe it.
Then discuss it further.
That said, they design these grinds so that if you don’t do them when they’re current, you’ll be lapsing on current content itself later on in order to do so, unless you have an inordinate amount of time. Thus, indirect FOMO.
The grind takes up such a large chunk of time, that if you don’t do it now, you’ll be hard pressed to schedule for it later.
These grinds remain doable well past the patch they were introduced in. They aren’t going anywhere, therefore they are not FOMO.
And still just as bad as Korthia in the end.
People just engaging with things because they’re too far into a grind, rather than because it’s fun. Playing for sunk cost fallacy instead of content standing up on its own.
Here’s a random question: does anyone know if that questline is required? If not, I won’t even bother going back to the zone, it’s a waste of time.
Its optional you goober, literally don’t do it instead of crying about it
Some people wanted that stuff, and now they have it, boohoo you’re not the worlds most important person
I know right, people using the forums to give feedback, especially when they feel pushed out of content from bad systems design.
Totally not a thing, right?
When did they say this? Did they actually say this?
Not really. Do it whenever you’re bored or feel like you have nothing to do. Or don’t if you don’t think the rewards are worth the grind.
Ghostcrawler mentioned this on an old twitter Q and A.
They intentionally design things to make people feel bad for “lapsing” on content and feeling behind.
Current employees would never admit to such, so of course we had to hear it from a former game director of wow instead who hasn’t worked there in years.
As funny and entertaining as your post was, at the end of the day it is all up to you whether it is worth doing or not.
Me, I saw the rewards in Undermine and said “no thanks”. Pretty much the same as the Arathi thing they added that I haven’t touched even a single time and the visions I did just enough to unlock the enchants.
Once I tire of LoU and the M+ grind I think I’d rather just take a break till S3, mindless rep grinds are just not worth the time investment. Especially for such awful rewards.
Looks like someone (cat noises) who regularly feels slapped in the face by Blizzard came along to save the day. They too felt a great disturbance, as if enough serious complaining wasn’t happening and needed to rectify it.
They obviously had a fear of missing out.
FOMeOw if you think about it.
Yeah, I’m waiting for Blizzard to eventually stop cannibalizing their game with so many trashy systems designs.
They say they’ve learned from Shadowlands, but I’ve yet to see it. Thus, no reason to stop giving the same feedback.
You do you.
Don’t you have anything better to do than hurl hostile insults on this forum all the time?
