To get the Seething Slug you have to click 3 Seething Orbs in the Zaqali Caldera. You get a buff everytime you click one. When you’ve gotten 3, you open the Seething Cache, and loot the mount.
Problems:
Zaqali Caldera Wingshredder makes this farm unnecessarily painful. The stacks don’t fall off upon landing, and you can barely take a little flight before you’re at 10 stacks again. Unless you afk for a while, you basically can only fly with 0 Vigor.
The orbs just aren’t always there. Not only is there plenty of nonclickable orbs to bait you, but more often than not the Seething Orbs are not even spawned.
If you DC/Hearthstone with the buffs, you lose them.
Realmhopping sometimes bugs out your Orbs/Cache
The Seething Cache is often not even there after you obtain 3 Orbs. Seems like it disappears when someone loots it.
If someone loots the chest, EVERYONE LOSES THE BUFF. This was added May 5th.
Just an incredibly unfun and painful farm.
Solution:
Nerf the Wingshredder, make it the same as the Dragonbane Keep one where the stacks fall off instantly on landing.
Make Cache visible even without buffs so people know there’s a treasure there. (It’s required for an achievement, yet nothing points towards there being a treasure unless you search 3rd party sites)
Make Orbs respawn faster.
Make the Cache not despawn after someone looted it.
Make the buffs stay on you as long as you’re in the Cavern, DC and Hearthstone (if its set in Zaralek) should keep your buffs.
I hope we can get some adjustment to this treasure. It drops a mount and is required for the zone meta achievement, but I wouldn’t wish this farm upon my worst enemy in the state it currently is in. There’s been people saying they’ve checked the Caldera for hours with waypoints and found nothing. This is just not fun.
shame on the dev that designed it. i got screwed twice within half an hour. had 2 stacks, joined a group that had a 3rd up, immediately someone on the server looted the chest, entire raid lost their stacks. got 2 more stacks, then someone on my server (not in a group) looted it, lost my stacks again. this is just mean.
I agree with this. As of 5/5/23 the debuff is at least infinite as long as you stay in the zone, but the wingshredders are the most obnoxious thing in the world. I run out of vigor so much and the “sitting” vigor recharge is so slow. I can’t even skim the ground to build up vigor with the new skills and by the time I get up to speed to earn any vigor back I’m at 7 stacks and have to land again.

Please either make it so the wingshredders can be disabled via a quest or nerf them in some way.
Couldn’t agree more this was a painful farm. I was finally able to get mine by searching each way point for a few hours while dead. You see the orbs just can’t click on them while you are dead. While dead you don’t have to worry about vigor or getting dismounted.
Having it intentionally wipe progress that took a long time to do is just uncalled for. I’m all for difficult puzzle-like and especially rare mount grinds, but to reset everyone’s progress when one person loots it is ridiculously anti-community and especially painful. Wiping progress is a cheap way to make people work harder and spend more time on it. They could have made the requirements more robust but equally rewarding while keeping the sense of progress while working on obtaining it. They pulled what we call a move.
Devs only know how to create time sinks…as per MrGm tweet now the buff doesn’t have a timer but if you’re right, now you must look for the orbs again if someone claim the chest in your realm first.
I’m glad that I got it the first day in a big group and when I got the 3 orbs and someone took the chest before me, I left the group and jump to another server before anyone else, it was really easy, so I didn’t see the many issues regarding this mount.
This game doesn’t need time sink that lead to frustation moments…
OOF. This thing was a bit bonkers to get. Here are my tips:
WM on.
Shard hop.
If you have any stacks, take note of the people in the groups you join. Check each persons debuffs. If your see anyone who has more than 1 stack, immediately leave to shard hop away. You cannot risk them acquiring a 3rd stack and blowing away all your own stacks.
Die somewhere in the middle of the caldera area and use the ghost flight form to hunt for the orbs. That way you will regain regular flying and be immune to the sky knockout debuff and the DF riding mechanic completely.
There are more orb spawn points than the Handynotes addon shows. Check with Wowhead.
Do NOT leave the zone or log off if you have any stacks as this will remove all your stacks.
Dying will not remove your debuff stacks.
The debuff no longer has a timer shown. It is unknown what the new timer (if any) is.
if they want this to be as much of a pain as it is then they need to remove it from the treasure meta. At least the treasures in the main isles were doable with enough farming eventually and were a solo mission.
