Because you have the firsthand experience with which to base this decision on?
You’re telling me that over 50% of the alliance players chose to roll alliance specifically to get fast bg queues? They had the foresight to anticipate that horde would be sitting in hour-long queues and elected to roll Alliance for that reason?
Let’s be real here, if you’re quitting the game because of same-faction BG’s you’re literally upset that you have to play against players who aren’t running garbage leveling/dungeon gear. Premades are not faction-exclusive, so that argument is irrelevant here.
This may be an unpopular opinion to those who don’t want to hear it, but if you’re losing Arenas it’s because of your gameplay and your gear, not because of your racials. 282 AP for 15 seconds is nice, but it’s hardly letting me sweep the Arena queue.
Assuming that top-level min/maxing is going to directly impact your play is assuming that you play at a top level.

Here’s an idea to throw out to everyone seeming how there are issues before and after hvh queues. How about HvH queues and premades fight premades on weekends of specific battleground weekends that start at 6pm friday and ends sunday night at say midnite then the premade vs premade system and the same faction queue system then disappears. Seems like it would make a whole lot of people happy like the “i work for a living and can only play on weekends mostly” as well as “premades suck and are worse on same faction queues” as well as “premades everyone on that particular bg weekend in that bg”. Seems to solve the problem all around for the most part without causing huge integrity issues with the game that wasnt intended but the players made happen.
I play alliance. I don’t pvp.
I’m playing out the rest of my time and quitting.
I don’t care at all whether horde has 30 sec queues or 30 hour queues.
I care about whether the game has devs that try to fix the underlying problems with the game or just slap a bandaid on.
There are lots of other games with devs that care more.
So you’re quitting because of something that doesn’t remotely affect you? Isn’t it getting kinda crowded on that bandwagon?
No he is saying that he doesn’t like the decisions that are being made. The future of the game depends on people making decisions he doesn’t agree with. So he’d rather not invest in a game that he doesn’t like the direction of in his opinion.

You really dont get it do you? This change if implemented will kill alliance on pvp servers. There have been numerous threads on why. Look at the one that has “gravity” in the title. It will explain it to you
The more I think about it, the more i’m believing that there’s some sort of conspiracy with serious alliance PvPers. On these forums its either max level alliance avatars complaining or level 60 horde avatar’s complaining (alliance in disguise), but anyone with even a basic fundamental understanding of math would realise with the queue times the way they are, Horde can’t get HONOR ANYWHERE NEAR the rate that alliance does even if alliance lost every game.
This has a follow on effect in arena where Alliance can enter with 400 resilience and vast majority of horde wil have less than 150. The ultra hard alliance pvpers (the ones coming to these forums and raging hard that horde can get some honor now) know this and planned for this and their plans for dominating the arena early are under threat.
They throw insults at us like “stop being so selfish, this is the way the games meant to be played like it was 15 years ago,” (a tactic used primarily by narcisists to misdirect your detection of their selfishness by trying to get you to feel the need to explain your lack of selfishness), but it’s pretty clear cut whats really going on here.

Have you seen the state of alliance in retail? This decision speeds the process up.
The state of alliance as a faction compared to horde does affect every alliance player.
The fact that the devs bandaid the horde symptom while making no moves to address the underlying disease means they are only interested in quick fixes to shut up squeaky wheels.
I would rather play something else ( as i have been doing for the last 5ish years) than support a company that makes these types of decisions.
Why get super invested in wow again when the devs have shown they are going to ruin it for me?

Im sorry your experience is ever so slightly dampened.
With this change, a lot of horde will actually ‘have’ an experience.
I don’t mind the same faction BG, but I also liked how active World PvP, Spirit Towers and Halaa was because everyone was so desperate for any resil gear.
A bit of a dream idea would be to be able to cash in Halaa tokens and other world pvp tokens for honor points. That way people still que, but can farm honor via different avenues while waiting. Of course this doesn’t address the required tokens you need for honor gear, but maybe you can buy the tokens with honor points?
Another avenue for honor points could be arena skirmishes, but doing arena while queing BGs messes up your BG que. It would be great if Blizzard can change it so you can enter a BG while in a skirmish match.
Very well said, the entitlement and lack of any logic some of these alliance players are showing is crazy. On one hand they’re saying Same faction BG’s is cancer yada yada yada, and in the other hand theyre saying, dont touch this 15 year old game, everything needs to stay as it is regardless of how unhappy the playerbase gets and if blizz loses money from horde unsubscribing thats their problem not mine #nochanges
Logically, theyre either stupid or knowingly selfish, it cant be anything else.

You said in 1 hand they don’t want BGs and in the other hand they don’t want bgs.
That’s like having 2 left feet

It’s not about my experience or your experience.
This is a re-release of tbc.
IMO the devs should either leave it alone
or
Look at what is causing the actual problems and work towards fixing those AS WELL as fixing the symptoms.
I have no ill will towards horde players. Their choices for this reboot of tbc highlights problems with the underlying systems, which is a Blizzard mistake, not a player mistake.
I believe if blizzard is going to “make adjustments” it needs to be to improve the underlying problems as well as the only “symptom” that has shown up for horde players.

I agree with you, but are you saying that in the meantime, horde shouldnt be able to do pvp until a huge fundamental change is implemented that blizz havnt been able to fix in 15 years according to alot of people on here. If something isnt done by September this game is gonna start dieing when D2 resurrected is released.
If i could i’d faction change to alliance, but im not a guild person, i just play with 1 friend casually wanting to do a few BG’s now and then. More players in TBC are guild focused and therefor the idea of faction changing to alliance to pvp isnt viable for many.

Yes please. Being able to play BGs as my main source of enjoyment… a definite plus and reason to stay subscribed.
I agree. I’m going to d2 for sure.
No I am not saying that.
I am saying that the ONLY thing addressed at all since launch has been Horde bg queues.
fvf would fix that now, while also worsening faction balance.
If blizzard implemented fvf tomorrow while also stating they are exploring solutions for faction balance and will outline a plan to address that within a month (or even 3), i would be willing to wait and see.
Bandaiding horde while ignoring alliance is the problem for me.
Any gear anyone gets will be outdated within a year. Unaddressed problems with the game last forever.
Now if Blizzard has no intentions of addressing faction balance, I am certainly stating fvf should not exist and that you should be stuck with whatever queue time you get, regardless of whether it is 1 minute or 6 hours.
Just as alliance on most pvp servers and horde on alliance dominated servers may have to corpse run for an hour to get into a dungeon and have given up the thought of leveling gathering professions or having zone buffs.
Just as alliance on retail has shrunk to the point that many have given up on finding enough like-minded people for a raid group or competitive pvp group.
Fix or don’t fix.

I’m on the same page, anyone who is complaining has honestly lost their mind. I like to hop on play a few BG and hop off, this is a viable way to actually gain honor and snag some PvP gear here and there, now that we are back to 20-40+ minute quenes, I am going to just play my sub out. Im done staring at my screen for 40 minutes just to actually start playing. It’s unhealthy to force players to sit on the computer for 40minutes just to start your PvP instance.

Fair enough, when you put it like that it makes sense. Most alliance players havnt articulated that as well as you have. Both sides have their problems, but the issue we’re facing on the horde side has a lot more immediate consequences and those need addressing before the big change that also needs to come as not being able to play the game will result in a mass exodus of players (especially now that we’ve had a taste of how the game could be).
