Go test it out on beta and tell me if unholy and frost is doing the same amount of dmg…
Don’t be NATO (no action talk only)
Go try and then come back

Have the tuning passes finished? Have the compensated Frost for the Pillar nerf aside from the ~20% they gave each ability which wasnt enough?
Also not everyone has access to the beta.
Uh despite the nerfs is still ahead. That being said, it is closer than it was before. There will still be a lot of tuning across the board I think.
My big fear is that defile and the riders will make seeing projected textures very difficult to see.
I love rider, but after playing it for a bit I really wish we had more rotational variety between each of the riders.
As it stands right now, Trollbane and Whitemane both incentivize you to spam scourge strike/obliterate, and Nazgrim just wants you to spend runes in general. Mograine gives you D&D so that’s a free global, unique, but not rotationally impactful.
Now obviously if all 4 of them were rotationally impactful Apocalypse Now would be crazy overwhelming. I’d love to see maybe Whitemane’s Undeath changed to synergize with RP spenders instead of scourge strike/obliterate, nothing crazy, but it would make her feel a bit distinct compared to Trollbane. It’d also be very thematically appropriate for unholy given their AoE RP spender is already disease themed.
Side note, still wish we had the Legion order hall horses for the riders. Please?
Can we please not use the weird Maw horses? Just let us use the four horseman mounts. (The midnight model)
Or even just the Acherus Deathcharger.
Every time I mount up with rider of the apocalypse mount I’m given flashbacks to The Maw.
I don’t mind the deathcharger that we have mainly because of the higher res of the mount (plus I love that aspect of the maw theme but that’s just me). I would not mind in the future we get a toy/rune or something to have other models like legion horseman but they have to update the models. No matter how cool a model might be wearing or using something with low res just does not look good especially we higher res mixed in.
Bro this looked like you was writing in your personal journal. Like put “Dear Diary” in the front of that and read it
But yeah I think Deathbringer is cooler but for CR will prolly be a meta slave.
Dear Diary, i hope random dks that reply to me on the forums would stop snitchin’
/s lol
I feel like the initial talent in the rider tree should have let you choose one rider to always summon on proc or even keep full time and then have the rest of them only appear during your CD window or when the primary horseman is already active.
It would have helped rider be less of a 90% passive tree by at least letting you choose which horseman best suited your gameplay at the time.
Is there any way to control what target hosemen and abom decide to attack? Itd be really nice if we could control them normally. As it is weve lost a ton of our prio damage.
Currently in Beta, the mount we use in combat is the Soulbound Gloomcharger’s Reins. We have 4 recolors from Legion class hall that are the same models as updated Midnight from Karazhan that would be perfect for this as they are not currently mounts. In Legion, we could use them around legion zones in combat for an hour. The exact use for those has already existed, and this would be a great way to bring them back as those models are beloved by most DKs. We have the Maw chargers as mounts already, they technically aren’t even DK mounts if we are being lore accurate.
Additionally, when you summon the horseman, they are also on maw chargers, even though they have existed on the other modeled horsed as well in legion. They fit so much better. Please Blizz, make the right call here.
Furthermore, I’d make the mount rotate through the four horsemen colors like the Legion one did.
It’s really a shame that they’re not doing this. It honestly feels like a no brainer that’s just being over looked.
