Dear Community manager (medium for developer feedback),
Here lately my bnet friends are logging on less and less. The last two weeks have been alarming. I know the peaks of a new expansion are epected but this is a little much. The consumables on the AH illustrates the current demand which is a tell for the state of the game. So what’s the big deal? Why is this happening?
The number one thing I hear is fulfillment. I was just talking to a friend that plays the game different than I do. He plays the AH and farms gold & rare items & mounts. He does not find fulfillment in the profession system. The mats are a time crunch but present no real challenge to obtain other than a time sync thus no fulfillment.
I am a returned mythic raider that raids, does mythic plus and a decent level of pvp and I feel the fulfillment is also lacking. The inability to target items is terrible. The loot rng needs to be scaled back. Specifically looking at m+ & pvp lootboxes here. Do not make the Azerite badge system as grundy as it sounds. The badge system being “a compromise” is an asinine statement . Prolonging content behind rng is making people quit. Make the game fun, you did it before. When this game was at its peak people still played after they got bis. If it’s fun they will play even if they have all their gear.
Additionally, the world quest & island expeditions being the best way to progress your neck is terrible. This grind you have created is burning people out and they are quitting. I have 10 friends that quit early on because of this. Any content that I do should award the same amount of Azerite as another type of content. In other words. If I do a mythic 10 key and it Takes me 30 minutes it should give me the same amount of Azerite as 30 minutes of world quests (the same goes for pvp & raiding the time and difficulty should equal the Azerite reward). I should be able to log in and do whatever I enjoy and not feel obliged to do a chore at the stage of the game I am at.

PS. remove world scaling & the new pvp scaling. Whoever thought of this and approved this should be fired. The amount of people abusing the pvp scaling is growing and it feels terrible. This is an rpg, player time and effort ought to be rewarded with player power. With the loot availability scaling is not necessary. Not trolling being literal. fire them.
No one needs to be fired because you don’t like something. Even with the loot, there are still plenty of reasons for why scaling is still necessary, WQs is one of them. Being able to quest in any zone is another great reason for scaling to continue existing.
Tons of problems in the game, but personally I feel dungeons are in a better place now than they were in legion, in terms of difficulty and affixes. The loot, once 8.1 goes live, hopefully will get better, but the dungeons themselves feel good in my opinion.
the only complaint i have about dungeons is M+ there should be more incentive to stay if things are going sour (like a determination buff based on time) or perhaps more severe punishment for not sticking around since one person leaving can end 4 other peoples experience in the instance and waste 4 peoples time.
If you think firing people who have families to feed is a good idea, everything you said has lost all credibility. Especially when they are doing their job, you not liking choices made does not mean people are not doing their job well.
If you think keeping someone in a position of authority who is responsible for the state the game is in is good for the health and future of the game, I have a bridge I can sell you.
Hint: Ion was not “just following orders” when he came up with his vision for the future of the game and created BfA to carry it out. Ion is Game Director. He bears responsibility for everything that happens in development of the game.
And he also probably has a really nice golden parachute, too.
