So I wonder how we can get players like you acclimated to the mythic landscape of S4.
On a scale of 1-10, how difficult are you finding M0’s? If it’s a hard 8 then it will be quelled when you get geared up higher. The content is tough now but it will only get easier.
So play heroics, then. They’re the same dungeons but tuned down to accommodate the olds and the handicappers, along with us turbo-casuals. I failed at the last m0 I attempted, as well, but that might’ve also been because the entire group I was in also wasn’t prepared for m0.
The game shouldn’t be completely retuned just to make a small minority of “gamers” can feel good about seeing somewhat bigger numbers on the exact same dungeons. That’s not how life works.
Blizzard literally just retuned this in the other direction. I agree with this point in principle, but it’s not like someone is complaining about the status quo that has existed for years…
They retuned it in the other direction to resolve an issue they saw in heroics being trivial and very quickly outgeared and m0 being a nothingburger tier. It wasn’t because a handful of players cried too much.
Yes, and I actually agreed with the goal. I just think they went too far on the low end of M+. I’m all for heroic and M0 being relevant for more than just fresh max level toons at the start of an expansion and alts. It’s just everyone whose preferred difficulty level existed in M+ from +2 through +11 is basically SOL.
Only people who refuse to get better are SOL. And this is coming from a super casual who would run the occasional +2, +3 or so. Now I have to get better, and that gives me a challenge to strive towards. Either way, it’s the same regurgitated dungeons as before, so it’s really not that big of a deal.
Seriously, these forums have always been people making a bigger deal out of stuff than necessary. It’ll be fine once the rest of us have geared up in new heroics a bit more and actually take the time to learn and pay attention to the mechanics.
I was actually pretty excited when they said they wanted to do this. It did need it. I just didn’t realize it would also delete my content level of keys. I get why they did it this way. But I feel like there could have been a better way that would have allowed for those keys to stay relevant to those casual friend and guild groups that ran them.
It basically kills casual guilds like mine. Which there are a fair amount of.
EDIT: and I’m not the one on here raging about the changes they made to the difficulty. I personally don’t mind them, and I think it was a good direction. So what I’m saying is fine.
Truly, I think it’s great that you feel this way. I’m all for players who have the means and desire to improve to take this change as a springboard to do so.
But there are legitimate reasons why some players were never able to progress beyond a +11 under the old system through their own merits. The players who are SOL will include these individuals, in addition to the players who simply refuse to apply themselves to improve. For this group, especially given M0 has a weekly lockout, the game has largely returned to a period where dungeons serve little point beyond a place to get starter raid gear, which was one of the goals M+ set out to solve in the first place. I can fully empathize with players who feel like this change was a step backward rather than the step forward it was portrayed to be.
They actually said it was going to be like that in the notes. But I agree, anticipating such, wouldn’t make it right or reasonable. From the old zero to the new zero is a 10 levels hike.
I’m sorry I missed this earlier in the poo storm of trolling from someone else.
This is about where we’re at and we are gearing up more. But we’ve been trying to do harder keys since season one and even with the gear we acquired, we just hit our ceiling and couldn’t go further. Just like some guilds hit their ceiling at Heroic raids, we hit ours at around +12s.
It’s a guild of older, some disabilities, very busy lives and we were content with our ceiling. Unfortunately, our new ceiling removes any possibility of timers, affixes and scores now. But we will keep trying. I watched them wipe to DotI 73 times on a +13 out of determination to finish. So they’ll definitely keep trying. LOL
We’ll see how it goes next expansion, tbh. Changing it right now was a shock to the system. Had it been changed in War Within instead, it may have felt differently.
You make a good point about the weekly lockout. They should do away with that and make it, at worst, a daily lockout. But anyway, people who “can’t” get better than +11? What, are there people who have a handicap that allows them to progress just fine before that difficulty level but not a single level higher? Yeah no.
Get better or stick to lower level content. But yes, please do away with that lockout, it’s unnecessarily impeding.
bliz only cares about training players to endure harder difficulties
especially the M+ system which is zero new content endgame unlike raiding
some out of touch manager at bliz is like ‘I don’t get why more players don’t do the incredibly repetitive zero new content M+ system? We’ve got to push more players into it for metrics and because it costs us almost nothing!’
You can get 4 pieces of whelplings crafted gear, each one at 486 gear. World events (world boss, hunts, siege, soup and Valdrakken Weekly) give you another 5 pieces in 480-489 range (this week will probably be zeralek, so auto correct that for the zeralek events). LFR and Weekend Quest also give good gear. Gear is not the problem.
About the high APM that is required for Mythic VS Health Issues: Look, I geared 5 different characters this weekend. I had a problem in only 2 groups. Open you own group, let it be clear that it is a LEARNING GROUP WHO WILL TAKE THE DUNGEON AT A SLOW PACE. This game is not the exposed nuclear reactor people like to think it is. There are a lot of players out there who are willing to go slow and chill, in respect to the limitations of others. Just, please, face your social anxiety and try to make your own group, you’ll see the difference. (also, LEARN THE DUNGEON. Disability is not an argument, there’s a guy who pushes to KSH every season, and he does not have an arm)
