Feedback on the Dracthyr

I tried to keep an open mind, waited for the increased customizations but I am sorry! I just dont like Dracthyr!

I feel like they are a fail on every level: from how they were pulled out of no-where lorewise, to how unaesthetic they look both in dragon and non-dragon form, to the off-putting and over-the-top colours.

I normally will give props to the technicians and say something isn’t to my personal taste, but in the case of Dracthyr, I feel like they are technically subpar. From conceptualization to execution, they are awful - an eyesore at best, totally hideous and out-of-place at worst. It is unbelievable that they were greenlit.

They are probably the worst race to grace WoW. I realize this is an unpopular opinion but I just had to get it off my chest and I am hoping to find more like-minded people to alleviate my sense of isolation in my views especially because we’ll probably see a bajillion Dracthyr running around.

It’s just another boring unsexy woke race.

I just wish they had a bit more muscle to them, at least in the legs. Give me some Chun Li Dracthyr.

I’m not fond of them, but have not played one yet, so…dunno. That said, anything furry or cute is repulsive to me. Pandas? Those little fox looking things? Come on!!! What are we playing, Teletuby Smurfs Online?

unsexy? im gonna have to politely disagree on that one

They are far from perfect and I’m still surprised Blizzard haven’t given them a more bulky look and stuck with the skinny geckos, but they aren’t bad. Preservation is plenty complete but I expect Devastation to get some sort of rework in the future.

The transmog and visage restrictions are upsetting though. Kind of hints that they didn’t have enough time to make it as good as it could’ve been.

how the hell did you come up to that conclusion?

As someone that enjoys transmogging, they are like the mechagnomes to me.

I think they’re a waste, but meh, some people like them. So long as we get some new customization options for current races, more heritage armor, and dare I say some new race/class combos in DF, I’ll be happy.

I don’t know yet, I haven’t played on yet.

Okay after the replies in this thread, it’s safe to say I HATE Dracthyr!!!

I mean we had Taurens since day one they aren’t condoning it they have always supported it.

None of the classes or core races added after TBC have done much for me. With exception of maybe death knights, they’ve all been built around gimmicks and don’t feel like they could’ve been rolled out alongside the originals. I’ve created a few characters with these races/classes but they all get stuck in alt purgatory, never reaching cap.

Interestingly I feel the same way about Demon hunters and Vulpera, Dracthyr I think are kinda cool, at least lore wise, what with them being basically modified super soldiers.

I do like the spell effects, and think some of the dragon form customization is dope, but feel the visage form is… lacking, idk, I’ll see what I can do in character customization. I honestly don’t plan on playing one, as I’m more of a melee player though.

Idk what you mean about “alleviating” your sense of isolation, or finding “like-minded people”, I would say the majority of WoW players find something not to like about the Dracthyr.
