So for starters i have tried about literally anything and everything to figure out what is going on. When I’m playing world of Warcraft i will constantly get this feedback noise in my headset, can be short, can be long, can happen 40 times in a minute, can happen once every 5 mins. As soon as i swap screens or close wow it no longer makes said noise. New headset, new video card, new sound card, toggled every damn setting i can find in wow and also followed the Sound problems issue help on the forums. IF anyone can think of anything i would greatly appreciate it. I use Astro a50s, have tried my gen 3 and gen 4s and also 2 other headsets that are not wireless to determine if its a wireless/wired issue.
Hey Magedi,
If you can provide a list of specific steps you have already tried, that can help narrow it down and avoid getting duplicate suggestions.
Let’s also get a DxDiag so we can take a closer look:
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Type DxDiag and press Enter.
- In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
4)Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save - Paste the DXdiag into the post, select and highlight everything you just pasted, and hit the “code” button (</>). That’ll make the information much more readable.
It should look like this.
If you have issues pasting here, please use Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).

I cant even begin to list everything I have tried. Ive searched forum after forum after forum to try and find a fix. New drivers, no addon’s, fresh install, new headset, different headset. This only happens with World of Warcraft. As soon as i click out of game the sound stops. It seems to ramp up when im in battlegrounds. Maybe the spell casting is messing with the sound? Who knows. Ive followed the troubleshooting guide you guys post on audio issues. Ive tried vsync on, vsync off. No other game makes this sound , no other application makes this sound. Others have even heard it while i’m streaming/ in discord streaming.
It looks like the voicemod software is crashing. Can you try uninstalling that temporarily? I’d also suggest closing all other programs while testing the game.
Tried this and still getting same issue. This mainly happens when im near or in combat. Seemingly like the noises from combat trigger this feedback sound
Megedi,
If that didn’t work, I’d suspect an audio driver or device conflict. Your DXDiag has a huge number of audio devices. Can you disable any other audio devices other than your primary audio devices via Device Manager? To do this:
- Press Windows+R and type the following into the box
devmgmt.msc - Open the Audio Inputs and Outputs collapsible
- Right click all of the options which are not actively being used by the game
- If this works, re enable them one by one until one breaks it again.
Once you figure out which it is, reinstall the drivers for that device and contact the device’s support team for more help if that fails.
If that fails, let’s create a new dxdiag right after the issue happens. Upload the new one, link it to us, and we’ll look over it for more options.
