Flying around, doing my thing… “Ooo, piece of candy…”. Only in this case candy is a mining node. Land on a precarious cliff edge and approach the node, no big deal… except, small TNT come out every few seconds landing randomly around the area. Simple choice, take the hit and hope you finish, or move and start over. Take the hit? You just got yeeted off the cliff, now youre dead. Move? Annoying but okay… more TNT. Take it? See above. Move? Okay… repeat until finished. I kept thinking, this node better be worth it. “You obtain [Bismuth Ore - bronze] x 2” … and it totally was NOT worth it.
Or in an even worse, possible situation, the node blows up with a ton of little nodes you can mine, but watch out because you only get 10 seconds before anyone inside the larger circle dies, and all the nodes go with you. Again, risk vs. reward is terrible.
Okay… you (dev team that deals with mining nodes) had your fun screwing with my health in Dragonflight, you thought, what, they didnt like that, we should double down? Really make them feel the suffering? Make them regret being a casual??? REVENGE ON THE CASUALS!!!
Gathering professions has (had really) always been my go to, netflix and chill activity to do when im all caught up on gear progression for the week, and want to keep playing. The constant dodge mechanic WOULD be a decent thing in the game, if the reward was worth it. If im risking death in-game, it should be at MINIMUM a x10 item node. But ideally a x20. Risk vs reward is completely one sided. Currently rated terrible IMO.
Think of the poor poor sappers. Theyre ashamed of you. Thats not enough reward to blow onesself up…
I heard the TNT nodes were put there as a way to slow down bots since after the initial 6 explosions, there’s like one at a time. Bots can’t detect a difference between the TNT nodes and others so it ends up killing them. It’s kinda funny if that’s true.

This is a really bad feature… it really serves no purpose. The irradiated flowers have thrown me off many cliffs and killed me too.

It’s a small inconvenience once you’ve got the skill knowledge in the correct tree.
Ez mines are really just for engineers.
I skip them on all my other miners.
Oooh…spicy candy!
Edit: there’s a specific side you can stand on, as well as proximity that mines in like 33% the time of the normal mining speed. Lets you land and mine within a single set of bombs being thrown out.

I use a Parasol when I mine… If I do get Blown off, you turn into Mary Poppins for for a few seconds and dont take dmg… Well, unless you float into to a pile of Evil Elite lvl 80 bees that dont like Chimney Sweep’s, singing Chim-Chimeny…

I’m sure botters can figure out what “EZ-Mine” means and just avoid those nodes.

I died to this on my priest because i redid my action bars and forgot to add levitate…

See what I mean? The sappers would be ashamed.
The problem with the explosive nodes is the reward is not better. Should always be 5+ ore. With like 50% higher chance at Silver and 25% at Gold quality.

Agreed, i tend to just avoid them in general since i usually only mine while I’m fishing and they aren’t worth the hassle. If there was a chance at better quality material though I would change my mind.
