No you’re not. That’s the difference in expressing a healthy amount of emotion about something you don’t like and… what you’re doing.
Marksmanship pet access before: 100%.
Marksmanship pet access now: 0%.
That is the literal definition of “everything.”
yeah it was the same thing back in SL until tehy over buffeds tier 4 and so many FOTM folks rolled surv then Blizz nerfed them and their numbers went drasticaly down. Melee hunter is not the first thing that comes to mind when players want to play hunter right they usually have the ranger archer achetype in mind and then when you add the fact that surv being malee adds nothing to a comp that other classes like Shamman, Warrior, Rogue, DK and Monk add you are left with an odity really but to each their own I guess
Exactly what I’m referring to when saying one side of the argument is more vitriolic than the other.
If the devs are making such a change to MM, do you think more people are for these changes or against these changes? Especially when it isn’t the first time they have tried.
You are losing exactly one thing. You are gaining a bunch of other things.
Explain why you should keep pets and what changes should or shouldn’t happen from what is being brought to MM’s overall kit. All I hear from you and someone like Syegfryed are complaints and whining.
…Really?
Yes? The scope of this entire conversation is pets. We had them before, we don’t anymore.
Except you clearly get an eagle pet that accomplishes almost everything that your old pet did, with the other utility (ms) getting baked in baseline. You both have a pet and don’t have to worry about a pet at the same time.
I’m saying goodbye to pets I collected in 2005. Frankly, a little bit of vitriol in your direction is warranted.
Dramatic again. I also have pets older than my children. They will still exist. Bm and sv will still use them. Chill.
no you dont get it this is the worst thing ever. I NEED mm to be the same spec as BM.
You should get out there and level more bro, you are only level 12 after 20 years…And like others have said, they aren’t being deleted or anything like that. Your pets will be in the stable waiting for you to go BM. You know the spec that is all about the pets you care so much about AND you can have 2 of them!!
Personally I hope sentinel is a good choice for pvp. I don’t like that black arrow or whatever replaces kill shot just for aesthetic reasons.
Gonna humblebrag for a second too, I’m pretty sure it was my feedback during alpha that got glave toss changed to the original animation in DF instead of the shadowlands version. Aesthetics > all in my book.
Appeals to emotion are valid for players who want a ranger, but not for players who are losing the spec they already have and who are being told to “play another spec.”
But yes, our side is the one causing problems.
While that much is true, and could be avoided if blizzard still lets us move all the wonderful utility to the Eagle/Hunter but keep a pet for a smige of tanking for us…we are gaining time. Time we can now use for doing damage no longer is used for healing or micromanaging actions on a pet with odd AI/pathing issues. The other utilities are still there.
Hunters are the casual class, after all.
Oh, man, I didn’t realize more pets is so much better than one pet. I can’t believe BM was hiding under my nose this whole time. Now I’ve got the flying circus fantasy I’ve always wanted.
Dark ranger with the precise shots black arrow function is gonna be hard to pass on. The damage profile of the sentinel dot itself is also not super ideal for PvP. Its only useful purpose is the +15% worth of modifiers you get from the passive and owl debuff. If people are playing it, aimed shot and rapid fire probably need to be nerfed.
Yes, the devs recognized that traditional pets were causing problems. They proposed changes to fix those problems.
Yeah you can have 2 eagles! Your favorite!
Yep. Lone wolf itself was a compromise. The logical ends put marks in weird places.
Modern grouping requires you to use certain builds/talents. You’re not getting groups to play the game at a high level with suboptimal talents.
You have to give up all of your class utility to do the damage that people expect out of your spec. Which is not something that any other spec has to do. You also don’t get 5% better damage than everyone else in lieu of you giving up the utility.
The options were to remove lone wolf and retune the spec around it having a basic hunter pet that you don’t really do anything with, or something else. The “something else” is very clearly intended to satisfy people that don’t want to play with a regular hunter pet (a valid and recognized thematic goal) while also shoring up the problems created by lone wolf and the loss of hunter utility by using it.
Nothing about the new design requires that pets be unavailable for MM.
you can make them non optimal numbers wise, keep the utility shift to the spec itself and avoid this entire debate.
You can already talent non optimally, no reason there cant be a passive version of lone wolf or w/e that drops dps with a pet out.
The core issue has always been the broken utility/survivability of hunters caused by the lone wolf talent, but that’s solved already.
Let folks keep their pets, it’s fine now.
