[Feedback] How to fix Dinars, M+ Loot

The fix satisfies fixing Dinars, Mythic+ people able to target specific pieces of loot, while still giving a clear edge to Mythic Raiding overall.

It’s a simple fix that, while i am not optimistic can be done mid season, should be considered for s3 of The War Within.

The fix is: Remove Myth level upgrade track, double Hero upgrade track.

Due to the timegated nature of crests for most of the season (I know the crest caps are getting removed in a few weeks), what were formerly Myth track items would provide a way to achieve better crest economy rather than being in it’s own bucket entirely while providing a softer “bad luck protection” to the patch in it’s entirety for people who actively engage in things like +10s and Heroic/Mythic raiding.

To provide an example:

Vexxie drops a cloak, Undercircuit Racing Flag-
Currently on live:
On heroic:
1/6 hero track upgrades
649 ilvl

On mythic:
1/6 myth track upgrades
662 ilvl

The same cloak, when adjusted for the removal of the Myth track:
On heroic:
1/10 hero track
649 ilvl

On Mythic:
5/10 hero track
662 ilvl

By getting a drop on 5/10 hero track, you are saving:
x number of Valorstones (this is variable based on the slot piece)
60 Runed Crests (30 {2 upgrades} remaining for the week)
15 Gilded Crests (75 {5 upgrades} remaining for the week)

Admittedly, there might need to be some further adjustments to crest economy (maybe even consolidating Gilded Crests and Runed Crests while keeping the current weekly cap of 90 intact) but the idea stands I think.

If there are concerns that this invalidates Mythic raid difficulty; I don’t think rewards are the issue with this difficulty and haven’t been in quite some time, The biggest barrier for Mythic raid has and will always be the 20 man requirement and no amount of individual player power or offer of cosmic godhood amongst mortals will ever come close to easing that pain point.

Getting people to participate more in Mythic raid is an issue that better rewards won’t solve and I think the community’s response to hard requiring Mythic raid boss kills to get the max rank Dinar rewards proves that this.

If there is any nugget of feedback I feel Blizzard should take away from this, I think that’d be something they should really consider long term.

Stop suggesting “fixes” that coincidentally leave you with outright more powerful loot.

You have zero CEs.

Rewards are absolutely an issue.

Have more respect for people that demand all gear removed in game.

Delete m+, and mythic raiding population will skyrocket. Maybe even 5-10x.

Or a lot of people will just quit. Not everybody plays this game to raid. I personally will never be able to mythic raid unless i get a job with a consistent schedule, which for now isnt happening.

Doesn’t matter. Population of m+ is vastly higher than raid.

Incentives to do m+ are also vastly better.

People tend to play content that is well supported. It’s a bad argument to say other content shouldn’t be supported since no one is playing it.

I cant speak for the OP, but im not asking for them to not support mythic raid. I just want an avenue to acquire myth track dinar items. Put it behind whatever key level they deem appropriate idc, just give me an avenue to acquire the gear.

Based on current tuning, I wish mythic dinars in m+ were at +17.

(I’m currently doing 14s.)

i dont agree faux—it’s very possible (and I think I’m even guilty of not realizing this) the community itself has shifted away from some of these more legacy systems that were at one point; the heart of MMOs.

Aka…we’re old. Younger players dont have the attention span (for better or for worse) for these slower-to-reward systems and us older people no longer have the patience for them because we all got lives and families now.

Mythic raiding requiring a hard 20 was it’s own deathknell even when it was announced during the end of Mists.

Guilds have slowly (esp. since BFA) had trouble …even the heroic-only focused ones with rosters.

Mythic plus is the only way that those of us who still want higher rewards but dont have the connections to a mythic guild can actually keep playing. I agree that that those of us with higher M+ scores should have accessibility to myth track items. I dont agree, however, that it should be for 3000+ since that is arguably harder than the first 3-4 bosses on mythic raid–lot less room for mistakes and we’re under a timer…

just put freakin dinars in teh game each season…make them costs crests and stones like they did in the past. make them start low and require them to be built up over time–hell–you can even make them exempt from the discounts when you get higher items in that slot.

If you just want pointless number go up, please go play Cookie Clicker or something.

or …just do it. Players obviously liked it, but as usual, we’re expected to believe we dont know what we want or how things work

If anything; it also kinda emphasized that they need to be more careful about how they balance stuff. I LOVE that they shy away from anything that highlights where they can put in work and just remove stuff willy-nilly or go back and forth with this carrot on a stick thing …just reeks of desperation.

“Players” are better off uninstalling WOW and playing cookie clicker.

Blizzard balance is like always a mess, and I’m not sure why people expect otherwise.

i dont know what this cookie clicker thing is you are talking about, but it does make me want a cookie…
