Feedback: Group Loot is Awful

Group Loot just makes looting bosses feel terrible.

That experience you were designing the game for is gone. It’s just really lame stress now.

When a tank trinket drops it’s literally “which dps will snipe this trinket from met?” (a dps always snipes it.)

Yes, it was possible to min/max before and adjust your loot spec to every boss to min/max your loot but now that a super handy DIE is put in everyone’s face they can easily just need everything and loot has become way more dramatic and it’s resulted in everyone just feeling like it’s worse overall.

Good news! They are fixing this in 10.0.5

Bad news! They aren’t addressing anything I wrote at all!

Group Loot should have never come back. Even though it isn’t exactly like Personal Loot like lots of people claim on the forums it does give a more non inclusive feel to the game.

You’re damn right.

It’s essentially the same as personal loot, but has more automation in the sense you opt to be eligible for the roll or not.

In personal loot it took the opting to roll for the piece out of the equation (as you didn’t know what dropped off the loot table anyways) and just put you into a pool of players eligible for the piece and rolled it out without you seeing it.

They essentially gave the players more control and now people are complaining about it.

It’s hilarious.

I challenge someone who disagrees to explain their argument in how I’m wrong.

It’s been broken for weeks and they just admitted it’s still broken until this fix it in the next patch even though they said it wouldn’t be like this in the first place.

It’s also not the same as personal because you could never get more than 1 piece of loot from a boss with personal so your argument immediately falls apart.

PERSONAL LOOT NO TRADE RESTRICTIONS.

With personal loot no trade restrictions nobody could make any argument about what group loot is now and pugs/LFR would get exactly what they want.

Downsides to PERSONAL LOOT NO TRADE RESTRICTIONS:
Race to World First Raiders being as degenerate as they’ve always been.
They will never stop being degens. Stop trying to prevent them from acting degen.

Asmon and other streamers will stack their raids to funnel gear:
World First Raiders have been doing it for years. RMT is well known and documented. Who cares at this point. The devs have never stopped degen behavior ever.
Degens will be degens. That’s it. Stop designing the game for them.

My loot spec is set for my tank spec.

I’m literally main spec rolling for it like you are.

Your issue is that you think that someone is stealing what’s yours, when in reality you just lost the roll like you literally always could have.

This is a non issue.

Oh yeah? You couldn’t trade a piece to someone else to give them a second piece of loot? Really.

Seems my “argument” still stands.

Are you asking for this to be a thing? Cause that’s not how PL worked when it was implemented.

Your own “argument” falls apart right there if I’m reading your nonsense correctly.

Heed your own advice.

So when I ask you if you need that shield and you say
“I’m a tank main”
And I inspect you and you are wearing 2 two handed swords as fury from raid…

You just happened to miraculously get 2 2handed swords in raid before a shield even though you are a prot main and when I ask you to sub in for the guardian because they have no idea how to swap for the boss even thogh its LFR and you ask me what the swap mechanic is even though you are a tank main…

Like, that’s the current experience with group loot.

People lying, everyone seeing the die and just clicking on it. It’s far worse than it ever was with personal loot.

Only because now you can see who rolls on it.

If PL were still a thing, guess what? I can be a dps and set my role to tank spec and still get tank loot.

The outcome is exactly the same as what you’re referencing, except now you can see I rolled need for it.

If you can’t figure that out then try pulling your head out of the sand and see the light.

Would you have felt as bad if a DPS had gotten a tank trinket in Personal Loot?

I could be geared as a furry warrior, but my loot spec could be set as prot. Prot is now my main spec, so I’m allowed to roll on tank items.

Me having tank as my loot spec doesn’t mean that I’m a tank main.

Stop doing this. Someone else won. Just leave it be. Your feeling of entitlement is only causing you misery.

People were openly asking if anyone needed the loot with personal.

Now I’m seeing people with heroic raid loot just smashing the die icon because they can they are mentally programmed to just smash that die now nobody ever asks if anyone needs loot anymore.

The other tank barely beat me on a trinket roll, gave it to the other guy who rolled for it. I asked them about it 30 minutes later… “I was the 2nd highest roll, you didnt need that trinket at all.”

It’s just creating drama now. It’s literally just making WoW feel worse because we now expect drama as a matter of fact instead of something that just might happen once in a while, it’s just a fact of life now.

Lmao no

I gave away all my loot multiple weeks in a row because I didn’t need it and I didn’t think the transmogs were good in sepulcher.

Fun fact, GL locks your loot spec for the purposes of that roll the second the 1st person loots the boss. It is not possible to re-actively get a mainspec roll on an item, which means that PL does nothing to solve that complaint. They are the exact same in that respect.

Just because you did it doesn’t mean it was a common occurrence.

It was always what is your loot spec when the boss dies.

Yep, so swapping to PL changes literally nothing about the functionality of the game as it relates to this complaint.
